Did that work?

oh sweet! Let me try that out Thanks!!! The photo in the background is actually the real car, when my dad owned it
-
wow! What scale is that? It looks HUGE ~ or just a very well done kit, lifelike

Not sure if this will work, the whole photo posting thing... but I'll give it a shot This was built "in memory" of my father, who passed away in 1998 ~ he bought this car new for $2,700 in 1970 after he got out of Vietnam. I made the model to look like his car, the only modification being the hood and some terrible engine work. I painted the roadrunner "decal" by hand since the kit's decals were different from what was needed. The air cleaner is made out of several parts, including some J-B Weld I did the best I could... and I'm happy with the result, the hood covers the engine bay quite well. By the way, you can check out my other builds as well as more photos of this roadrunner here... http://www.myspace.com/thorpess as I'm familiar with myspace, this page is dedicated to my scale models. I'll be adding more there eventually, just so you know... thanks! Hope these photos work! hmmm... and they didn't Sorry

Brush painted? A few of my shake can paint jobs don't look half as good, haha! You have skills!

Impressive... Most impressive!

I'm more into the "show car" builds... stock out of the box, doing the best I can with the parts supplied ~ maybe adding a few minor details here and there. Never did I think of doing this to a model, it always seemed to be pointless. But the more I look at these rust buckets, the more they catch my eye. They have more of a personality than a regular build, every one of them is different. All the little details, missing parts... just the way they've "aged" over the years. Very impressive! And you guys do an awesome job at this ~ every time I look at these models the more I want to give it a try. HAH! But I'm sure it wouldn't come out as good as some of these builds You already know this but... wow ~ fantastic job so far! This old ford has class... I bet it still runs too!

That's going to be sweet! Great job on the spoiler too ~ haha... if I was to attempt such a thing, the end result would be "just another parts kit" to work with. It would be a disaster. Keep it up! I can't wait to see this one finished. -
haha, nice! I try to stay away from those sites but what the heck... I'll give it a shot.

Well, here it is... for all to see. Hmmm ~ I need to learn how to post these photos like everyone else, not in the thumbnails?

Wow, excellent idea! Thanks for the tip... and that model looks killer! I'm getting jealous looking at all these awesome builds -
Welcome to the club and back into building ~ I just joined this site a week ago and can't stop looking at all the builds... very neat and interesting stuff going on here. Once you get back into building, you'll see you started right where you left off! My 1966 Thunderbird is the first build I've done in five years... it's like riding a bike Can't wait to see what you come up with. Nice guitars man!

Thanks, it's been a while... I wonder why it took so long to build anything ~ forgot how much fun it could be.

Thanks Jeff, I don't build too often but this site is giving me some motivation. My '66 t-bird is just about finished... another day or so, can't wait. I'm excited to see what it'll look like when complete. Haha, nothing like that '62 thunderbird Eero posted today... have you seen it? WOW...
