Niko... Thank you my friend. I am trying to figure out ways that I can improve on this build... since I tend to redo parts again and again it seems haha. and you are right that I have been trying to make each part as if it was a model of its own. I know where you are coming from where you are wanting to see this one done. You don't know how bad I want to finish this myself. But trust me I will have some other cool 1/16th scale builds to follow. That would of been great if you could of made it out but that one of been one Heck of a Road trip.. David... thank you Scott... Thanks bud. I was trying to nail the stance and from what I could see the body supports as best as I could. I am sure I don't have it perfect but I can say I am really happy with it so far. Mike... thanks brother. I think having this mocked up is showing me that it is starting to come together and I can see that vision I had for this build. Now I can't wait to paint some parts...lol Steve... Thank you. It was a pleasure getting to talk to you at the Desert Scale Classic. I have to tell you that you do some mighty fine work as well and your funny cars were looking great!! Bill.... Thanks man!! I appreciate it. I really wish I could make it to the GSL to see your stuff in person. Scott.... Those brake handles look great!!! I will never mind if you want to post pics of your products in any of my threads. Feel free to any time you want. Alyn... Thanks man. I was trying to work with a different camera and better my skills taking pics. I still have a lot to learn in that department....lol Well Fellas.... little update.... yesterday I was planning on getting the other two body side supports fabricated but I ended up having one of my sprinkler lines bust at my house and had to fix it when I got home from work as well as pull weeds. I was a little tired after doing all of that but I will be at the bench tonight as soon as I get home from work. I will post some pics of what I get done tonight. -
Mike... This one beautiful build and you knocked it out of the park. I am loving everything about it.... The stance, the engine, the color. This is one Bad a$$ ride. I do have to ask what color green is that... Olive drab? The black and that green compliment each other perfectly. You did an outstanding job on this. Top notch work by far!

Art... thanks bud. Sure missed seeing you and hanging out with you at the Desert Scale Classic but heard you got to go to the Long Beach Grand Prix. I went to it back in 2005 or '06 and had a blast. My favoritea were the Daytona Prototypes. Dave... thanks man. I am sure you got to see a bunch of great builds at the NNL East Ron...thanks for the comments on the stance. Stances make or break my builds for me and I was hoping to get this one right. I will tell you this after I have bee. Doing this 1/16th scale build. I am hooked on them. You should do another one. Tom.... thank you! Rob... thanks a bunch man. Brad .. thank you my friend. It was such a pleasure to get to hang out. Hey Fellas.... so ever since I made my last post. I was trying to post pics and then it seemed the forum went down for a while today. So I apologize on the delay for the pics but this is the first time I have been able to get back on. I have gotten pretty much all of the body supports done for the front end and I was also able to get the hood cut out so the blower would be able to stick thru and I had gotten the chassis mocked up for the desert scale classic yesterday. Since I had it mocked up I decided to shoot some pics of it and will share them with you but first I want to to show you a couple of pics that I had used for reference for the front body supports and how I had changed the contrast and brightness to try and see it the best I could. Then I will show the structure and some mock up pics... Here are the two main pics that was used to help me figure out how I was going to do the front body supports: Here is what I have for the front body supports after adding the additional bracing: Here is an upclose shot of it right side up: Here is a shot with the body up trying to show similar to one of the reference pics: -

It was a pleasure yesterday getting to talk with you and I have to say you do some mighty fine work yourself. Your funny car builds were gorgeous. Steve... Thank you for the kind works and I appreciate you following along with this build. Danno... Thank you for the kind words and it was so great to see you at the show. You guys always make the show fun and it was such a great turn out. Brad... Thank you my friend. What can I say but thank you to you and your wife for opening up your home for the BBQ after the show. It was a blast getting to hand out and Bench talk models. I had such a wonderful time between the show and the BBQ. I will be uploading some pics in a few minutes since I have the car mocked up, I wanted to take some pics of it before I tear some it down to work on it. So stay tuned..... -

Question about editing my post?
Mooneyzs replied to pandamonium2112's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You need to go to your first post in the thread you want to edit and I believe its edit then you need to go to "use full editor" and from there you can edit the title of your thread and submit modified post. I am having a brain fart because I am not at my computer at the momet and viewing from my cell phone. -
This is a totally cool build. Its nicely done and looks great!!

John... thanks bud. I can't tell you how happy I am to almost have this front body supports done. I have a little more I will be adding to it tonight. I thought that last pic was pretty cool too and wanted everyone to be able to see how it sits on the chassis. I am really looking forward to seeing you and hanging out tomorrow. Its gonna be a fun day and don't look at me if your Daytona Pro Mod is missing I promise I will take good care of it . I love that build but I can't wait to see what all you bring and hope you bring both snake and mongoose builds you are doing. I will be bringing my FED that s still in the works. I was going to try and get it done for this show but I got wrapped up with trying to get the body structure done on the F/C. -

Good Morning Fellas.... Got a little more work done on the front bracing last night. I still have two more pieces that will be added tonight when I get home from work. anyway here is what I have done I first started out by getting the body mount pads glued to the front clip and worked on getting the length of the brass rod to connect to the other part of the structure first: Another View: Here is the support pieces running up to the front of the body: Another view of the finished supports running to the front. The next pieces that will go in are another straight piece that will just make the piece that runs to the front a little more rigid: Here is a view with the body down so you could see the saddle sitting on the chassis: -
Favorite Scale to Build in?
Mooneyzs replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Right now mine is 1/16th scale (Drag Cars) for my favorite to build. But I do also build 1/24th/1/25th, 1/43rd and have 1 1/12th scale car. Would hope to do an 1/8th scale one day as well. -

Dave...i would love to come check out that NNL although our Desert Scale Classic is saturday too. But I could dust off my helmet that I have lol. Art... thanks bud on the stance. I am very happy with it. You are right i pretty much have all of the fab work done and now I just need to paint and put it together lol. I thing i will be able to get the chassis painted in 2 weeks. Bob... thanks for the kind words... i did crack up on the page count when it will be finished. I am really hoping to have this build done sooner than later. Once I get the rest of the body supports ffinished and chassis painted, I think I will be able to then make even better progress with it as a rolling chassis. Niko... thanks man. It would oribably be easoer of it was 1:1 lol although it seems some of the parts I keep redoing to make it correct lol. I need to stop doing that so I can finish it haha Ron...thank you for your kind words. I know there are alot of pages to go thru on this build. Well I did sit at the bench last night for little over and hour and started working on more of the front end supports figuring ot how I wanted to go about with it and I came ip with a plan that would work. I started fabbing parts and I hope to have that portion done tonight after I get home from work. I will post pics when I get it done. So stay tuned..... -

Brad... It was great to talk to you for a sec tonight. I have already pulled those parts out to bring them Saturday for you. You shouldn't give up on this beautiful build. Set it aside for a few days and then come back to it and you get it done to where you like it. You have knocked this build out of the park.
