  1. Brad... I love this build. Hey I can bring my goodyear stencil for you that I have so you can paint the good year on the rear tires. I know it won't help with getting it done before the show since we are basically two days away lol. Let me know and will bring it if you want.
  2. Mark... Nice work and that is a great idea to keep all do the parts lined up like you want. The transmission and engine are looking great.
  3. Mark.... Killer work and the detail is just out of this world. i love your work and this build. Keep up the great work.
  4. Mark... Nice work on the chassis and motor mounts. It looks great. I think may of asked you this already but what style of solder Iron are you using... Pencil, gun or resistance solder iron? I had some trouble last night with something compared to your chassis would be simple but when I had heated my area to solder I got the rest of it too hot and had joints on the other end shift since it got hot enough for that solder joint to melt. Anyway just trying to better learn better soldering tricks lol
  5. John... This is just top notch work my friend. I have to agree with Bill that this is a work of art. This looks killer.
  6. Steve... thanks for the kind words. You are right that I still have a ways to go but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and I can barely see the finish line. I do have a bunch of parts ready for paint and i have been waiting on getting the chassis sanded down one more time to paint all these parts at once. I am trying to finish up this front body structure fab work before gettin the chassis painted. Then I can move back to the engine and hopefully be on the home stretch.
  7. Bill... thanks man. I think I was able to get the stance I was looking for. Bill...thank you sir! Man wouldnt that be cool to see an engine in 1/16th scale fire up lol Well guys I had a lite set back with the frint bidy supports last night. While working th I sorta screwed up while using my solder iron and should of just super glued a support. Got it fixed and will hopefully be able to get more work on the rest of the supports tonight.
  8. Mike.... Here is a shot of the body down sitting on the body supports with the front end taped on: Here is a shot of the real car to give you the stance I was going for:
  9. Rodger... I can't tell you how many of the pieces I have redone til i was happy with them..lol Dave... I may just have to get that shift knob painted soon. I am trying to think what Color I want to paint the hat/helmet and If I want to add some sort of graphics to it. Mike... thanks Steve.... Thanks man. I am glad that this build has inspired some people here. Scott... Thanks bud. You are right, I can't wait to see what it looks like with the engine and the detail I plan to have under that body. Makes me want to hurry up and finish this build....well of course taking my time to do it like the vision I have had for this build. Steve... thanks man. Hopefully you will be at the DSC next weekend. I will have this there and I can show you what I have done to help you out with creating these for your Blue Max build. Is it a 1/16th too?? Steve.... Thank you for the kind words on this build. I have to tell you that this build is the one I am probably most proud of to date. I can't wait til I have it finished.
  10. That is a very cool Resin body. do you know if they have any more of those bodies?? Wouldn't that be fun to scratch build a chassis to put under that. Hey Joe, I just noticed that you are from Monterey Ca, I grew up in Salinas.
  11. This build turned out great and looks nice. I would be proud of this build considering its only your 3rd drag build. I think you did an awesome job and you have some nice detail on this too.

  13. This gonna be a great build. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
  14. I have traveled 750 miles to be at the NNL West. Then again I grew up 50 miles south of where the NNL West is held and now live in Phoenix. Hands down that has to be one of the best shows I have gone too. I still would like to be able to go to the GSL one of these days.
  15. John... Awesome work on this bud. The Snake looks killer and I love all of that detail you got going there. I am gonna have to see if I can get FED done before next weekend . You have inspired me to get mine done that has been sitting for the past 17 years and was painted 2 years ago lol.

  20. Danno... thanks bud. I better start brewing coffee if I want to get it painted by then... LOL Dave... thank you!! Yes I will be adding more of the support structure to the body. The front still has more that will get attached to the front grille area. I jist wasnt able to get it done yet since I still need to glue the front panel on. Then there is another on the sides to the hood area i will be doing. Besides the body Tin that will have to be done as well. Hopefully I am making sense.
  21. John... fantastic work!!! That snake rail is just beautiful. I See that you are dang near done with these guys. I am super impressed.
  22. Henry... thank you Mike...thank you bud. I am really happy with how this has turned out so far. I totally spaced it last night getting a side view with the body down. I was up late fighting with this for a bit but i did get all I wanted to get done bedore going to bed. I will get a side view pic for you. John... thanks my friend. I am looking forward to showing you this next week.my goal is to have the rest of this front body bracing done by The Desert scale Classic. The only part I may not have totally complete is the working body latch that I am going to do for it.
  23. Brad... Thanks bud. Looking forward to you getting to see this in person next week. The picture in my avatar is a gear shifter knob from Mooneyes aka. Moon Equipment I saw it and loved it on their website and had to save the pic. I actually have a resin Shift Knob from Jimmy Flinstone that is a little similar that I want to do. Here is a pic of the shift knob I picked up from him a while back: Good Morning Fellas.... well Last night I got some time in at the bench and was able to get phase one of the front body supports completed. The body mount pads have been located and glued in to position. The rod ends for the structure were made. I kept test fitting and test fitting making sure I was good with where the locations were. I also had trouble with the rod ends with how I was making them with brass rod and brass tube, which I had gotten fustrated with but its ok because I only had to remake it about 3 times....lol. I now need to add a support piece between these to pieces I am showing here. Once I get that piece located and put into place I will then get the front end glued in and then make the portion of the structure that runs to the front of the car connecting to the front clip. Here are a few pics to show you. Here I have the car upside down so that I could get everything lined up and in position that I wanted, and I applied a small dab of weld on #3 to hold it into place so I could make sure it was were I wanted: Next I had flipped the car over to make sure I was happy with where things were. Held the front clip up to it and it looked fine. Then the body was flipped back over so I could glue the pads in for good; Here I just propped the body up so you would be able to see how it looked hanging: Another Angle:
