  1. This is an awesome build so far. That paint and decals look great. I have to agree with Boswell that it is pretty neat to see a father and son on here. Also wanted to say that your son does some great work on here.
  2. Joe... thanks buddy!! Ok so I can finally say that I am done with the floor tin work. Been messing with it for a bit this evening and got the bondo sanded down and primered it. I am still debating if I should sand down one more time for another coat a primer but when I sand it I will see how it is and if it looks good I will leave it and it will be ready for paint. Now I am debating which part of the build I should move back too...lol I want to go back to the engine but I am thinking I need to focus on a few things in the drivers area....etc.... getting the steering gear box mounted as well as making the steering shaft and butterfly wheel, I am going to redo the gas pedal once again. Anyway let me show you some more pics of the floor tin.... Here is some bondo I added on the inside of the tin: Here is some bondo I added on the outside of the tin: Here are three views of it after I sanded the bondo down: And with primer back on it:

  7. Rodger...this is a beautiful build. Nice work as usual.
  8. Tyrone....I think you knocked it out of the park with the color. Perfect combo for this build. This is awesome and I am loving this build bro. I know I have said it before but you do some outstanding work.
  9. Jeff nice work Bro! This is sure a great looking body. You sure have talent man. This body looks perfect.
  10. Hey Guys I apologize that I didn't get pics posted sooner. I just got back into town from visiting family for Christmas and wanted to share a few pics. I will be working on this build over the weekend. Here are a couple of pics of the floor tins in primer. Since these pics I have added a little bit of bondo to them which needs to be sanded and another coat of primer. Then it will be ready for paint.
  11. Danno... I am sorry to hear this. my prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family.
  12. Darryl.... another awesome build man. your builds always have killer detail. nice work man!
  13. Jeff... hey bud its great to see you back at the bench again. i have missed seeing work on your projects. this body is looking killer!
  14. Hey Everyone!! I want to thank everyone one of you for your kind words and support on this. i got a little more work done last night. to the floor pan and seat. i added a little more primer to the seat last night. now I just need to sand one more area and the seat will be ready for paint. Then i moved back to the floor pan tin work. I finished the fabrication on it and got some primer on it as well. i just need to add a little bondo to it, sand and then ready for another coat of primer, then paint. I will post a few pics tonight when I get home from work.
  15. Niko... Thanks so much bud! It feels great to be back at the bench again. I sure have missed it. I am trying to do each part the best I can. Ok guys so I got a little more accomplished tonight. Did some more Tin work for the driver floor pan. I started with making a template from a 3X5 card and then transfered the template to aluminum printing plate. I still have a minor work to finish it but it is about ready for primer soon. Here is the template: Here is the floor pan made from aluminum printing plate: Here is the template and the part made up: Then of course I had to mock it up to test fit everything. in these pics I just have some temp bolts holding the tins in place. I will actually be using a different style bolt for the DZUS fastener: The inside: View from the bottom:
  16. Thanks guys..... Brad, I have been working on the bottom tin work for the driver area. I realized that after I redid the side tins that I never did the lower piece. So I have been making a template out of 3X5 card and I just cut it out from the Printing Plate you gave me. And now I am getting it all lined up to drill the mounting holes. I will post some pics when I am done with it tonight. So far it has been going good with making this piece. Back to trucking on this part.
  17. Jim... This is just awesome man. I really like where this Diorama is heading. Awesome work. I see you are from Arizona, Hopefully I will get to see you at the Desert Scale Classic in April
  18. Ok guys... as promised here are a few pics of what I have been doing lately with the seat. I have been adding bondo and sanding adding some more. Then broke one of the joints that I had to re-glue and redo some more of the bondo work...lol. Since it seems to be raining here tonight, I won't be able to spray my last coat of primer on the seat but i will get it sanded and ready to hopefully spray tomorrow. But that means tonight I can move onto something else on this build which will be a nice change because I am sorta tired of seeing this seat at the moment Here is the seat. I had to add some bondo on the inside since I noticed a few flaws in it: Here is some more shots of bondo that needed to be added since I made a piece to bridge the gap between the seat and chassis. I then needed to add bondo and feather it in so it was uniform: Here is the other side. which the same process was done: Here is the current condition with the seat after shooting another coat of primer on it: Right Side: Left side:
  19. John... this is a beautiful build. I am loving it. you sure hit this one out of the park. Nice work
  20. Thanks Brad!! you are right that we all hit that wall at times. I have an april dead line so hopefully it will be full steam ahead now. I am looking forward to getting home tonight and sitting at the workbench putting some time in on this build. I see a late night ahead of me
  21. Hey Scott & Mike... thanks for your guy's support. It means a lot. God is good. So I did work more on my seat last night and it is pretty much all finished and ready for paint. I just need to sand down with some 400 or 600 grit paper and shoot another coat of primer on it. I will have to wait and post pics of it when I get home since I need to head out the door for work right now. So stay tuned. Feels great to basically have this done. Now tonight I can move onto another part of this build.
  22. Thanks Dave... been doing much better. well guys i know I haven't delivered updates as I have promised. I have been struggling with getting motivated to build lately it seems. have had a few other things going on. I have really missed working on this build. I finally sat at my bench last night for a few working more on my seat and practicallybhave it done now. i need to sand a little more of the bondo tonight and squirt some primer and then she should be ready for paint. fingers crossed. i think i will feel.much better once i get over the hump with this seat lol
  23. Hey Bill.... Count me in as one who has been using Weld-On #3. I used to buy them in the 4oz bottles like what Tenax and Pro Ambroid (I believe that is the name of the other one) come in. Well long ago Weld-On stopped packing them in the small containers and I would get them in Pints and with in the past year I had ordered two quarts on-line of them and I paid somewhere around 15 to 20 dollars a quart. which if you are paying somewhere between 5 and 7 bucks for 4oz ends up costing around 40 to 56 dollars a quart. I try and save some cash where I can on supplies. I then transfer some of the weld-on into a smaller container that I work out of. Here is a pic of the pint size can that I transfer to. Let me know if you want to see pics of the Quart size and I would be more than happy to take and post a pic for ya.
  24. Dirk... This is one sweet build. Man you do some outstanding work. I loved seeing the build up in the Drag Section. I am sure looking forward to your next drag build or whatever you decide to build. I would love to see this in person. Very Impressive Build!!!
