Bill.... Thank you. You are right with little here, little there and it will be done before I know it -
This is totally cool... Nice work!!

Stephen.... I have shot pearl powder thru my Badger Model 200 with a medium head and needle. depending on the size of Flake you may want to shoot with a Large head and needle but you may be able to get away with mini flake thru a medium head and needle.

Airbrush sputtering problem
Mooneyzs replied to JM485's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hey Josh.... I recently had this same problem with my Badger Model 200 which I have had for 20 years. It is my favorite airbrush that I have. Mine would Sputter when I would first start shooting. I clean it multiple times and still did the same thing. After trying to get it to work and nothing changed when I cleaned it every possible way I ended up sending it into badger they fixed it and I can tell you that it was the seal inside of the air brush because now when I screw the needle in and out it is very tight. Go to badgers website and you can get their address and all they charge you for is the shipping it is like 8 or 10 bucks and they fix and replace it at no other charge. they even changed out the tip of my airbrush because it had an older style type and came back with a new one..lol -
Do you Clear coat --after or before-- DECALS?
Mooneyzs replied to adabiri2's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Count me in with the ones who clear over their decals. I have never had any trouble with my clear affecting the decals. Then again I am using automotive urethane clears. -
Brad.... that has been the story of my life of trying to finish one lately. well all I have been working on is the funny car but as you know I have a goal to have it done by the show in april and I have some cool builds I am gonna start after the funny car. I even have a list of 15 other projects I would like to do as well that have been on the back of my mind..lol As well as finish my 1/16th scale FED that was started over 15 years ago. But that one I would like to redo the radius rods and then just finish it because there wasn't much left and it won't have all of the crazy detail like the F/C.

Joe... thanks buddy. Brad...thank you. I guess I am going above and beyond because I want this to be my best build to date. I can hardly wait to get more done. I feel this rolling chassis should be done soon. The front axle is pretty much done other than I just need to primer it again and hoping after that I can shoot Alclad on it but I am wanting to do a spoon test with the Alclad chrome with and with out the Alclad clear, Hoping that it doesnt tone the chrome down. I also have more parts really close to paint...tin work, seat but since its been so cold I have held off painting til it warms up a little. Jim.... Thanks Buddy. I really need to get some drawings over to you for some other things I need made for this build. I know I keep saying it and I have been slacking on getting them drawn up but I am close with having the pulley's updated and the other is a fire bottle and possibly some parts for the fire suppression system (pieces that will mount on top of it). I hope you are doing well. I have seen some of your new work on rims and man are they impressive. I am going to have to order a set of those Magnum front wheels too. I just love those -
Hello Fellas..... Well while I am in the midst of my Highly Detailed 1/16th scale Army Vega Funny Car. I realized that I have been working on the Funny Car for almost 2 years now (I have 625 hours into it so far), I needed to start a quick build and have a little fun on it. Really I am just itching to finish a model. So I have decided that I wanted to do a fun curbside build. There is going to be no engine detail, no real chassis work other than to lower and have the wheels mounted. It will have an interior. My inspiration for the '57 Chevy Stepside was a truck that I saw at one of the Goodguy's car show here in Scottsdale, Az back in 2011. I am going to make this fun curbside build to look pretty much like this truck. It will have aftermarket turned aluminum mexican sombrero hubcaps I picked up from Bob Dudek as well as White wall tires from Modelhaus. The paint will be PPG basecoat/clearcoat but I am planning to add flattening agent to have that egg shell look. I think that it is going to be a fun project. I have spent so much time on my heavy detailed build that I need a little fun on something in the mean time. I am not sure how often I will get updates on this but going to try and put in a little time here and there and hoping to possibly have this done in a month if I can. Here is what the truck I saw looks like:

Mike.... Thanks bud. Really feels great getting more accomplished on this. Darryl... Thanks buddy. It sure is time to fire it up. You wanna flip the switch on the starter or would you prefer to sit in the seat . Hola Fellas..... Well last night I tinkered a little bit but didn't get very far because I was digging thru parts and aftermarket Items looking for a few things and then I kept bouncing back and forth on what part of this build I wanted to work on But I realized on the two panels I recently made that I was going to need to put a hole in them for the drive shaft to go thru. So last night I was hand sketching out how I was going to make the couplers and drive shaft. So today when I got the time I sat down and worked on these for a good few hours tonight. So far I am happy with how they turned out. I made everything out of brass tube, brass rod and aluminum tube. Let me show you the pics Here are all of the pieces cut to make two couplers, I originally was going to make them all out of brass and solder it all. Well I realized that I was out of 3/32" tubing so I had to settle for 3/32" aluminum tubing and super glue some of the pieces: I did solder these two pieces together, these two will be the "cup" portion of the coupler that the drive shaft sits in: Here are the couples after they have been assembled and they just need to be prepped for primier: this is the inside or "cup" portion as I called them earlier: Here is the Drive Shaft with I just cut out of 1/8" brass rod and cut to length: I had to take the parts and mock them up to see how it looked in the chassis and I am very happy with the results: Here is a side view of the mock up: Next up is to get the hole cut in the plates that mount below the seat for the drive shaft to go thru. Then during this process of mocking up the drive shaft and couplers I have realized that I think I have the gas pedal sitting to far back (close to the seat) and I need to move it forward and figure out how I am going to remount it. Better to have found this out now before I paint the chassis. After I relocate the gas pedal, I can get the rest of the chassis sanded and re-primered that way I can get some paint on it and have a rolling chassis done and thanks for looking. -
Very Cool Build!!

John..... I was wondering when you were going to be starting your next build. I am excited to see you bring this one together. This is going to be another Killer build!!

Joshua....I was just going to mention what Greg had said.... I have never seen anyone dry brush pearl before. Any time I have used it I have mixed it in with my clear or mixed it in an inner coat clear. laying down a few coats then coming back with 3/4 coats of clear. By the way the color looks good on the '57.
