  1. Jeff.... thanks bud!! I sure am trying to be a mad man Charlie.... Thanks!! I got close to burning myself a couple of times, all fingers are ok at this time Dave... thank you Dave... Thanks Bud!! you are right about not having the materials by the time I would have to go to the store to pick some of it up and learn how to start casting it was easy enough to do them this way. And now that I have figured out to get these types of boots they are actually easy to make. plus you are right depending on the era of the drag car decides what type of boots they are. Steve... thats cool you were able to find some Brad if I ever see that Hobby Depot has those sizes again. I can pick them up for ya. I am usually there a few times a month or when they call me when the new MCM magazine arrives lol
  2. Tyrone... this is sure looking good in primer.
  3. Rick... nice work on everything. I love seeing updates of your builds especially this one. You sure have some talent.
  4. Very cool ride!!

  7. Bill... Nice looking builds
  8. Very Cool Builds Guys. they all look great!!
  9. Hey Bruce... as promised here is some different materials that I got from a fabric store. I can't remember for the life of me if it was Hobby Lobby, Joanne Fabrics or Micheals, but these were a few I picked up and thought would possibly work well.
  10. I will have to post a few pics of thing I have picked up that would possibly work bit still trying to find that exact material. But I feel I may have some good contenders. I am out and about at the moment. Will post later wjen I get home.
  11. Jeff... This is just awesome man. That rolling chassis looks great and I think it's awesome you are gonna drop an engine in this one!
  12. What I would love to have some of the old aurora 1/16th scale kits.
  13. Happy Birthday Greg!! Hope you have a great day
  14. John... thanks buddy. That woukd be cool if you could make it but totally understand if yoy csnt cause I know GSL is around the same time frame. I would sure love to take some builds to GSL.. .especially this one. Scotts... thanks bud!! You are right i have put this much detail into so far that i need to continue lol. I guess i have set a bar for myself to prove to myself that i could reach the goal i set for this build.
  15. Danno....you have a very good point. I should have made a mold and casted them. I didn't think about it at the time. Plus I have never really done any casting or molding before I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to try. I need to pick up some material to do so. Brad... thanks bud. I had to be creative to get what I was looking for. Lol Niko...thanks. yeah these parts are small. I will have to take a pic of them in my hand lol. Man i sure wish this was a 1:1 hahah.
  16. This is such an awesome diorama. All of the cars look great in it but I have to agree with Brad that the '32 that is covered looks the best. I can't wait to see this at the Desert Scale Classic in April.
  17. Jonathan... this turned out Gorgeous and very clean. You did a killer job on this build and it looks great!!
  18. Ok guys.... just want to show you some progress of the spark plug boots and the process that I used to make them...... Here is all of the materials I started with. 3/64" OD brass tube, 1/32" OD brass tube, 00-90 brass washers: Then in my make shift Header jig I drilled a hole to hold the 3/64" brass tube and set a 00-90 washer on the balsa wood so the washer and brass tube was flush: next I then took the 1/32" brass tube and set on top: After that I took my soldering iron and set it on top of the 1/32" brass tube heating it all up and then hitting it with solder: After repeating that 8 or more times Here are all of the finish soldered parts. It seemed it took me a couple hours to get it the way I wanted: I took one set here (the one to the left) and filed the solder down with a round file and then took sand paper to shape them as well as drilling the 1/32" brass tube ID with a .024" drill bit that will fit the Pro Tech 1/16th scale Spark Plug Wire: Here is a pic after I put a quick coat of primer on the spark plug boots. The next step is to finish the other four the same way I did here and then I will add bondo to the spark plug boots for final shaping and they will be ready for another coat of primer, then Paint :
  19. Virgil... thanks for answering my question. I think it looks killer that you drilled them out and I have to agree it looks way better. I am sure digging this build so far. I always love seeing your builds come to life and one of these days I am going to have to try and rust one out "Dr. Cranky Style". Thanks for always taking us step by step.
  20. John... this just keeps getting better and better my friend. Boy its looking great!!
  21. You have a very good point that the cow pattern may be a bit too busy and the Giraffe. I did really like the Giraffe one before and with the vision I have for this build I think it will fit it the best. Thanks for the help.
  22. Joe... Man that race pack looks sharp. Nice work on it. I hope you don't mind if I borrow the idea for my pro mod when I get to it. I sure hear you about the motivation thing, I have been feeling that way a little with my funny car. I want to finish it so bad but there are days the motivation just isn't there. Its great to see you making more progress and look forward to more.
  23. Dave... its great to see you doing another engine... Man you sure are off to a killer start. I have been looking forward to seeing you get back to some of the builds and know that your '37 has been keeping you busy. Looking forward to seeing more of your Awesome skills!!
  24. Niko... that Chassis is looking great. you are doing an outstanding job on this build.
  25. Tyrone.... you keep on impressing me. this is looking great and Spot on to your reference pic you posted with the wheelie bars.... I still can't wait to see what you do with a 1/16th scale build one of these days .
