  1. Wayne... very nice man. thus is going to be a good looking body. its looking great so far.
  2. Don't forget about RB Motion for A/N Fittings to along with Pro Tech Braided line. As well as RB's many other products. Machined Aluminum Specialties also has some 1/16th scale items. I have been talking to Terry at MAS for a funny car/dragster Photo-Etch detail set. been saying for months he is running more but believe he has been having trouble with his etcher and had to find someone else. another name i need to shoot out there is Mark Johnson... he does some killer engines. I have his 426 Hemi which is what is going in my 1/16 Army Funny Car and he is workig on a 392 Injected motor for me. I know he has a 417 Donovan, a ford engine... which i belive is a big block although I dont remember the size and he has a big block chevy in the works as well. he has been a great guy to work with and his casting are very nice. all of these are for the 1/16th guys. so there are many options out there. Also dont forget Jim at Micro Nitro. his wheels are one of the best and I have supplied him some drawings for parts as I am getting my funny done. I have drawn a few diferent parts up in my 3D CAD program and made drawings for him. For example the hubs on my F/C Jim did, he is also almost done with the Pulley's and fuel distribution blocks I have designed. I have more i want to draw up and send him so we will have more avaliable to us 1/16th scale builders but I have been so busy with work that I haven't had time to get to them.
  3. Ed... you are doing one heck of a job on this. it is looking great and the detail is just amazing. keep up the great work. Very nice work on this build.
  4. Art... this is some great news. I am looking forward to talking to you on the phone, hopefully I will get to give you a call this weekend. I am excited to hear we will see some kits. I am on board to buy them for sure. thank you for being a big part in helping with all of this. also sent our thanks to Dave for being willing to get kits out ther for us 1/16 scale modelers. my hope is to see this scale grow for all of us.thanks again

  6. Brett.... Looking good man. You did a killer job on it and it turned out very nice. Love the shot with the two funny cars. That Schumacher car looks great too!!
  7. Darryl... all i can is Wow! you are making great progress... looking killer man!
  8. Hey Bart... you should be able to take your xacto knife and slide the tip under the bold head very carefully and pull off the rubber backing. tje rubber backing is there to hold the parts for lack of better the packaging. depending how the PE parts are made is they either tend to be on a tree where ou have to cut then off and then file/sand or in my opinion the ones on the rubber.backing are more user friendly but cost a little more to make. John... wth these bolt heads you basically take them off the backing and you will need to glue them to whatever parts you want. You can glue them with white glue, 5 min epoxy, gator glue (its a white glue kind of like micro scales krystal kleer glue but is an acrylic glue) and future floor wax. I have yet to try it Charlie's way with using Future but really want to try it out. I yhink it really boils down to personal preference on what you find the easiest and best for your application. you could do ca glue as well but would need to be careful because where it sticks it may be stuck. the other allw you time to get it into position.
  9. Very nice work on this so far this is going to be a great build and I look forward to watching it come together.
  10. You should send Gregg a PM and see if he has any back issues. i am thinking that he just may.
  11. David... I have some of Charlies 1/16th scale stuff and it is beautiful. You can't go wrong with it. I can't wait to use some of it on my build.
  12. Joe (Batzilla).... Thank you for the kind comments. I fugure the more I do things the better I get...lol or is it that it seems easier the 2nd or 3rd or 4th time you redo it. I find that since I am taking my time with things its turning out much better than expected. Joe (Prostreet)... Thanks again man, I appreciate it. Also you have a PM incase you missed it.
  13. I know this one is real. I won't say why but I just know.

  21. This is a very cool build. You did a great job on it and its looking sweet!
  22. Joe...Those wheels are looking great. I am guessing that Jim turned them for you. And those hubs look familiar . I am glad that Jim was able to take the design I drew up and make them for others here. Jims work is just out of this world and a great guy to work with. Looking forward to seeing more work done on this on your next update. Keep up the great work.
  23. John... you are right about not needing to rush it at all. Mike... It was great talking with you as well. Well I couldn't stay away from the bench much longer so I was able to sit down for a couple of hours and tinker a little bit on this. Felt good to get back to doing some work and feeling I was making some progress. I am super close to having this refab work done and will only need to add a few more things to the chassis once I get it done. I started working on the chassis tins again and got some of the dzus fastener tabs glued in. Hoping I will get to be able to build some more during the week depending on how many hours i am putting in at work. Here are some pics of the progress from tonight. Thanks for looking..... So I started out tonight by taking my chassis and tracing the area for the tin work to cover on a 3X5 card. Then I transferred it to a .020" thick sheet of styrene. which will be used as my template: I then took my xacto knife and cut the part out using a straight edge, holes will be drilled after I get my Dzus fastener tabs mounted. Also I should mention that once I get the holes drilled I will be using the plastic template and transferring the pattern to the aluminum printing plate and adding bead rolls like I did on the original set that I made before this chassis refab work: I mounted one side of Dzus fastener tabs, gluing them in place and once they are nice and dry I will lay my template over that side and transfer drill the holes in the side tin so I can get the Dzus fasteners glued in to the other side in the same locations: I couldn't help but put the seat in and take another rolling chassis shot with the engine sitting in place:
  24. Hello Jim and Art... I can't thank you guys enough for being our voices to Revelle and Model King. Art I still want to give you a buzz and chat with ya, I just need to find time in my busy schedule that I can talk. I know if more of these 1/16th kits would get release, I would be buying a bunch of them myself. If I had a choice on which funny car of McEwen... here would be the choices:
