  1. Very Nice job on this build Bill. It looks great. The paint work is beautiful. Very clean build.
  2. Those are some great looking rims. Nice work on them!!
  3. Charlie.... that engine is looking great. Love the detail you have going there. Always love your work, its very clean. Keep up the great work on this one.
  4. Bill...Very nice work you have going on this build. it is looking great. Man what I would give to have a mini Lathe and mini mill. I am really wanting to get to doing some of my engine details on my 1/16th scale funny car. I have to agree with Brad here, what are you using to machine your parts? Keep up the great work and I will be following along on this build.
  5. So with the one seat tin that I was the happiest with here is an upclose view of it after it was soldered. Take in mind that I will be shaping the solder down by filing and sanding it. then I will be going over it with a light coat of bondo to have things smoothed out in it since It will be painted black when done: Setting it in the chassis to see how it fits: View of it from the other direction in the chassis: Top view of it and I am still trying to work the corners a little more so they sit flush against the chassis, This is seeming to be a tough task. Its dang near close but may have to work it some more:
  6. Bob...I am using brass to get the thickness down as you mentioned but the shape of the seat isn't exact to what is given in the kit. the kit seat had ledges on it and the actual seat tins were butted right up against the chassis. Hopefully I am explaining that well enough. I did post pics a while back when I was first starting to modifying the kits seat, then I was wanting to scratch build a new seat. I do have a template that I will show you what I used. This seat work is a little more tricky than I was thinking but I am getting closer with it. Bill... Thank you for the kind words and for following along on this build. Ok Fellas, I have some updates on this seat for you guys. I is still a work in progress and am debating if i am happy with it or not... All I know is you need alot of patience when doing this... haha I am still needing to shape the seat a little more and sand the solder down and clean it up in a few spots. I am also needing to cut the holes in the seat for the seat belts to pass thru. Let me show you the progress so far. Here is the template that I started with. I started it out by taking the individual pieces I originally started with and traced them and created a single flat pattern to make it from: After creating the template, I mocked the template in place using tape to hold it in: From multiple attempts at making the seat you can can see how many times I created the seat with the one that turned out the best on the right hand side:
  7. Bart!!... You are totally killling this build. Holy Smokes you have taken it to a different level with all of the moving linkages. I really like the work you have done here. Your craftmanship is out of this world. I need to step up my game now You are setting the bar way up there Keep up the grea work bud and can't wait to see your next update.
  8. Joe... Thanks man.... Yea the back part was pretty easy and the side piece wasn't that bad either but I have a funny feeling the last part is going to be a bear... lol Thanks for the words of encouragement that you have faith in me being able to figure it out. Hoping I can' knock it out today.
  9. John... Thanks buddy!! Brad... Thanks man.. I have been doing a little thinking on how the seat belts will get mounted and do haveone or 2 pics of the seat belts for the shoulder straps. They actually come through a cut out in the seat back but don't really have a great shot of the lap or crotch belt. But from other funny cars of this era the lap belts also come thru the sides of the bucket. Mike... thanks bud, it feel great to be back at this build. Brett... Thank you Guys I should be getting to work on this today and hope to have some more updates for everyone. Thanks for following along and checking in on this build.

  16. This is a great looking build. job well done on it.
  17. Brad.... Thank you bud!! I can't tell you how much I have been "Jonesin" to get alot more done on this. Happy New Year to you as well. I was able to start the seat fabrication last night and I decided to start my templates from some of the printing plate you gave me. I feel its coming along good so far but a few pieces may be a little tricky but whats modeling without some tricky parts right? After i get these initial pieces made up from the printing plate I will then make from brass and solder them together....well that is the plan anyway. here are a few pics First started out by laying out the middle section of the seat on the printing plate to be cut out: After cutting the printing plate out I took and bent it to the shape I was looking for and placed it in the chassis: Then I started making the side pieces and laying it in place, Not sure if it is the best way to piece them together the way I have shown here and then I am going to attempt to solder the joints together, Hoping it will work the way I want it to:
  18. Dave... killer work man!! I have to agree with Tyrone... you are the man. I really enjoy following along with your work. I learn alot from you ad yor builds. Thank you for sharing with us. I do want to ask what kind of soldering iron do you use?

  25. Hey Art... I wasn't planning on putting in one of the drivers in the seat on this build But I do have a cool resin one I could sit next to the build... lol Well Fellas I know its been a little bit since I have posted any updates. Been busy between work and was out of town for Christmas. Any way I was able to get back to the bench for a few and got a few more things knocked out on this chassis update. I was able to get the motor mount tabs glued in as well as the seat support tube. And I started on Coping the roll cage to fit the upper chassis area. All I need to do now is make two more tubes for the roll cage and add the Dzus fastener tabs back in. I have also started making templates for the seat bucket that I am making. I figured that since I have the roll cage off that this would be the perfect time to make it since I will be pretty easy to set it in and out of the chassis with the roll cage off. I am planning on making the seat out of thin brass sheet that way I can solder it together. Here are a few pics to share with you, sorry that the pics are not as good i was rushing to get pics..... Rear Motor Mount Tabs Glued in place: Front Motor Mount Tabs glued in place, Motor mount tabs completed: Seat Bucket support tube glued in place: Overview of the chassis rebuild and what it looks like at the moment:
