  1. Robert... Looking great man!! It looks great sitting on those wheels. Hey I am still trying to think who makes the Goodyear front runners for you. I know I have seen them but I need to go thru my links and figure out where I saw them. when I run across them I will let you know. Keep up the great work you are doing on this build.
  2. Hey Guys.... Thanks for all of the kind words and for following along I was able to make some more progress last night on the chassis. I have a few more things to do.... like adding a tube support for the seat. I also need to modify the roll cage just a little bit, going to shorten it just a little and then add 2 more tubes to the side of it. I had edited one of the pics I have of this Vega car and noticed that Prudhomme's roll cage had a little mor support to it. Here are a couple of pics from last nights progress..... Here is the tubing I added to the chassis around the engine area: The other side:
  3. Brett... This is looking great Bud!! and its coming along nice. Very nice job what you have done to the body so far. Looks great with you removing the rear louvered window and adding in the sheet like you did as well as the "snorkle" on the hood. Is this 1/16th or 1/25th scale. Keep up the great work.
  4. Dave I will have to get in touch with Tim. when i get somethig drawn up. Nope you arent being nosey at all one idea I was toying around with was a seat bucket and thinking what else could be useful to others. I also have had his Idea for a vehicle that i have wanted to scratch build for years and i had started to model the body and i could print it out and scratch build it from plastic but was considering seeing what it would cost to have it made.
  5. Hippe sad it best. I get all of my AN fittings from Robert at RB Motion. He is the best in the business for them and for Braided line Charlie at Pro Tech has best braided line in the business.
  6. Shane... Thanks man. felt like I made some progress last night and I should have the support tubes that go by the engine area done tonight. getting.closer to having this chassis rework done.
  7. Very cool looking project. Nice Job!
  8. Danno.... Thanks man. Yeah no pressure at all huh?? LOL I was really wanting this project done by February and with work the way it is. I am afraid I may not hit that date due to work at the moment. But we will see what I can have done by then. Maybe now that the Chassis refab work is just about done, some of the other stuff may starte to move faster for me. Was able to get a little more bench time in last night and here is a couple more pics of the chassis.... Adding more Tube: Driver cage area just about done. need to add another tube for the seat rest/mounting point and add the roll cage:
  9. Jim... Rasing the stakes huh?.... Bart... Thanks man, I am happy with how the chassis is shaping up so far. I have been going back and forth on the type of black I was thinking of using for the frame. It will either have a House of Kolor BC25 black base with clear over it, possibly add a slight flatening agent to it or I was thinking of some Alclad graphite black color I have of theirs ( although I need to spray this and see how it actually looks in person). An you are right I have so many nuts and bolts from Scale Hardware it isn't funny... I could take a pic of my nut n bolts box Dave... Thanks Buddy, I think I can get a good portion of the rest of the chassis done possibly tonight. Don't want to Jinx myself But I will still need to get the roll cage back on. I can't wait to have the chassis in primer. But then again I have alot of other work between the Engine, Body and little details to do. You are right that this is a short step for this long journey and it will pay off. I am just anxious to see some paint on some parts.....tired of looking at plastic...
  10. Dave that is really awesome. Thank you for taking the time to explain that to me. I think its very nice that you want to give back to the modeling community like that. I know I have some items on my wish list from TDR, I just need to place my order on them. One of the other reasons I was asking what CAD program you were using was because I have a 3D CAD program I use. It's what I used to draw up some parts that I had Jim (Micro Nitro) Machine for me. I was thinking I would maybe talk to Tim and see what File types they typically use or would need for these SLA rapid prototype parts. I was thinking about drawing up some stuff, if they think they could possibly sell it and have them make it, then he can offere it to everyone. I haven't had much time to do it but I also have a couple of one off items I was debating to see what it would cost to have him make versus trying to scratch build it something as well. Thanks again Dave for all of your help.
  11. This is a very cool build!
  12. Hey Harry... thanks for tip on the LED lighting. I am going to have to check it out and pick one up. i currently have in my hobby room a flouresent shop lift hanging over my workbench. but I do a make shift workbench on my Kitchen table to i can watch TV while working on my model and i have a desk lamp that i use. But can never go wrong with more lighting.
  13. Charlie... thanks for the props. I can't wait to have more done to this build. I am getting closer to being able to get some primer on this chassis. that sound like a good trade.....hahahaha Mike... thanks buddy. It was great to talk to you as well.
  14. Robert.... you are making some good progress. It is coming along very nice. Keep up the great work on this one!
  15. Rob... Thank you for the kind words. It has taken alot of practice and many years to get where I am now with building. Joe...(BigDaddy) Here are a couple of pics of the front tires and spindles to show you. Ok so last night I was able to sit at the bench for about an hour and made a little more progress on the chassis. And after looking at things I have thought up a plan at how the rest of the tubing will be laid out on the chassis. So hopefully tonight I will be able to make some more progress. Here are a couple of pics to share. Thanks for looking. Started out by adding some upper support tubing: Then added some lower support tubing:
  16. Very Nice job Brett! Looking good.
  17. Hey Rom!!... Welcome back Bud!! Sorry to hear about you losing your house and bummer that computer pooped on on ya. Its great to see you back and I look forward to seeing updates on that Pro-Mod of yours.
  18. Virgil... Thanks buddy! I was very impressed how well the purple pond worked on this one. Hey Greg.... I think I feel off my rocker or maybe its the fact that I have put too many hours in at work lately. I need a break from work and more Bench time on this build . Thanks for the compliments on this build. I am planning on doing some more work on this tonight and in hopes that I leave on time from work. I am still planning on having the chassis updated by the end of the week..... Cheers!!
  19. Holy Smokes!!!! I love that paint scheme... Man does it pop with those colors and I really like that lime green on there for the pin stripping. Awesome work man!
  20. Charlie... you are off to a great start with this build. I know you will hit it out of the park too. Your work is always clean and beautiful. I look forward to progress pics and will be following along with this one.
  21. Greg... Man you are on fire with this build. From the detail of the transmission to what you are doing with the engine. I am very impressed. I just love this build . That Engine is over the top with the detail and the amazing amount of scratch building you are doing. I really like your idea for the head gaskets. I was planning on doing the same thing on my funny car, make some templates out of plastic andt then make them out of some K&S Phosphours Bronxe .006" thick material. Looks pratically like Copper. I am trully amazed at the detail of your engine. You have hit it out of the park with this one. Those valve covers are gorgeous and that pro mag you scratch build is impressive. I also like the "Puke Tank" lines and outlits. Keep up on the awesome job you are doing on this one Mate! Cheers. I can't wait to see what you have instore for us next.
  22. Joe... I look forward to your update. I hear you about being drained from work. I have worked about 23 hours the past two days and Tonight I sat down for a second and cut two pieces of tube and glued them into my chassis. Wasn't worth posting pics of that till I get some more done to it tomorrow night.
  23. Dave that is just some awesome work on the center section of the rear end. I have to ask what CAD program are you using to draw the 3D model of the Camaro in as well as your parts?? It looks awesome
  24. Bart...I do have the Droid Charge android phone. i guess i could start using the full version on my phone. my screen isnt quite as big as yours but it is big enough 3.75". just glad i have access to this site through out the day on my phone. i will have to check out the other version.
  25. Darryl.... this is another beautiful build by you. it sure looks great. Love seeing your work, cant wait to see the next one.
