  4. John... nice job. this looks great
  5. Hey Clint... its great to see another 1/16th scale build going on here. I love me some 1/16th scale builds. I was going to say that you could back half the car. Just add tubbs to the back half. Now you would have to change the back suspension and scratch build the back half frame. Hope you don't mind me posting a pic of a '62 Bel Air Pro Street I did many years ago. I actually used a '67 Chevelle pro street back half of a chassis that I grafted onto the 62" frame. so right at the end of the X in the frame and where the wheelie bars start is where the two different frames meet. this is to give you an idea of what you could do with the 55 frame other than having to scratch build it yourself since there are no 1/16th scale pro street kits. here is a couple of links for you that you can see some rear clips from some after market companies to get an idea Chris Alston's Chassis works: https://www.cachassisworks.com/c-477-frame-clips-rear-weld-in.aspx Art Morrison Chassis: http://www.artmorrison.com/homepage2.php looking forward to seeing progress on this build.
  6. TIm... This thing is incredible.... WOW... You have me blown away. I think you have been making a lot of chips (another machinist term). every little part is outstanding and your attention to detail is way up there. Loving the progress you are making.
  7. Brad... That is looking Sharp!!! You are knocking this one out of the park. I can't wait to see more on this bad boy!!
  8. Then I decided to buy a few linkages from a company called RBS Superchargers again for research purposed so I could measure and draw then up in my CAD system. I will end up having these 3D printed. I was having trouble finding any dimensions on these and figured the best thing to do it buy some and since they weren't really expensive I figured what the heck. And I can turn them into wall art after I am done. Which is the same thing I am going to be doing with the Chute Pack: Here is the Blower linkage drawn up: Here is another linkage that can be used for the barrel valve, injector hat & fuel shut off valve: This linkage can be used for a fuel shut off valve or barrel valve as well: And last but not least a throttle stop which goes on the injector hat:
  9. I also had to add body filler to the inside of the pieces: So I decided to purchase a used Parachute Pack for research purposes to be able to measure and scale it down, so I can make my own. You will see here the 1:1 and then to the left I have a resin parachute from Flashpoint and then you can see a flat pattern on a small piece of paper as well as my first prototype that I had folded up in paper to see the sizing which I need to adjust one or two things on it: Here is a closer shot of my flat pattern, along with the first made chute pack and the resin one:
  10. Well you know I had to mock the body up on the chassis to take a look how it would look sitting on the chassis and well I am super happy with it now. the stance looks a little more spot on: Here its is on the other side: I had to then throw in a front shot: It is now time to add some body filler to the newly added side pieces: Body filler on the Right side:
  11. Hello All.. I know I have been away for a little bit but I have been getting a little bit of work done and think its time for an update. Had to do a few more body mods but am finally happy with it. Hope you guys will enjoy.... So I had to extend the rocker panels down because Revell didn't do the best job in capturing the correct look well stance of the body...lol So I added some styrene to them: Did the Same thing to the other side: When I was extending the rocker panels I started by creating templates from .010" thick styrene and then I made templates for the heat shields that get attached to the rocker panel. I colored the heat shield template with a black sharpie But I will be going back and fabricating the piece of out brass for the final part, I also had cut out a set of the decals and taped them to the side of the body to get an idea of how it would look with the heat shields and placement of everything: Up-Close shot of the heat shield attached to the body with rivets from Scale Hardware: And of course here is the other side:
