Now for the very bad pics.... haha Here is the bottom tin work and I was amazed that they purple pond would attach the aluminum printing plate: Yeah... this piece isn't fixable...lol: The side tab: Well Guys I am trying to get some motivation back in me tonight to get back to the bench tonight to try and do a little work on it if I can.... Not sure if I will work on this tin work stuff but just may put it aside for now and come back to it. -

Well fellas... this update is well just say good and bad..... some good news is that I tested to see if throwing 3D printed parts with primer into the purple pond if it would affect the frosted ultra detail material..... It worked like a charm. and well I was unhappy with how my chassis tins had turned out on paint on the inner side of the panels and made these out of printing plate that my buddy Brad aka Gasser59 gave me. Well the not so good news is that If you leave printing plate in the purple pond too long well it looks like it has a reaction and it eats it up. Not all of it is bad the side pieces are saved but the bottom pan was destroyed. I feel every time I sorta get moving in the right direction of this build to get progress done and move this build forward the wind gets knocked out of my sail. It shouldn't be a hard fix because I should still have my template I made the part from but the crappy part is the hole locations cause everything fit perfect with the other parts. I guess I should of just sanded the pieces down. Oh well guess its back to rework row for me...... Here are some pics..... Here I dropped parts into the purple pond, I was using the Super Clean brand: Here is the blower stripped as well as I got the fuel tank supply port glued in place. The reason I decided to strip the blower was because the last time I was adding some primer to it. I was starting to loose some of the detail and applied a little too much primer to quickly: So here is all of the bad news pics....lol Here is the outer side of the chassis tins. They really aren't bad and looks like I will be able to just sand the paint off and still be able to used these parts. They will just take a little time to strip by hand: Here are the opposite sides, as you can see in the top piece I started to sand with a sanding stick to see how hard it would be to sand: -

I really appreciate the kind words. I am trying to incorporate as much as I can into this build. Hope it all pays off in the end and I am happy with the final result. Scott... Thank you. I am super stoked about having the logo in the blower now. It just adds that extra touch. -

Danno... I know the update was long over due for sure. and time is ticking away for the show. I hope I can get it done in time. John.... Thanks Brother, I appreciate your support man!! Tim... Thank you. I have to agree that it is satisfying seeing more pieces of the puzzle come together. Although I was hoping to paint some parts this weekend but didn't get a chance to break the air brush out. Joe... Thank you. Its appreciated. Brad... Thanks Buddy. I am hoping to have more updates for everyone. I will be hitting the bench here shortly today. Mike... Thank you. I am thinking it looks ok. It needs a little more sanding and some more primer before I will be 100% happy with it...lol Mark... Thanks. This whole build I have been challenging myself by taking the detail farther than I have ever done before. So far I am happy with what I have been able to accomplish. Bobby.... Thank you for the kind words. The Injector Hat is still a work in progress. I have to go back and redo a couple of things since I had a few things not print the way I was hoping. I also need to look into seeing if I can make the radius's on the sides a little bigger. I was planning on having a couple more printed and I will try to resolve the sides to look a little better before I send them to the printer again. Hakan... Thank you! -

Well Guys.... since the forum lost some pics I am gonna re-post some of those pics as well as a few others. So I started out with some Machined Aluminum Specialties and Detail Master photo-etch pieces that I am going to use to create my shut off valve lever: Here are the pieces glued together: Here is the Shut off Valve, Tee Fittings and Shut off Valve lever in primer: Another view of it: Here it is placed on the engine: -

Brad... Its been good to get some bench time in, although I didn't get as much as I was hoping this week but I will be working on it tomorrow and Sunday. So hopefully I make some great progress on it this weekend. -

Ira.... you are right... think everyone lost stuff. Well fellas I will have to upload the pics that was lost. On another note I have been working on the blower sanding and prepping it as well as gluing the pieces together. I finished the sanding last night and got some primer on it and have to say it is looking good. I now need to sand it with some finer paper then add another light coat or two of primer and then it will be ready for paint. -
Art.... I love your work Brother... Top Notch!!!

Henry... what scale?? Hopefully 1/16th

Here are all of the pieces next to a penny so you can get a feel of the size of them: Now for a few shots of the parts mocked up on the engine. Today I am hoping to get these guys cleaned up, sanded and primed so they will be ready for some paint: Here is a shot of the real cars fitting set up that I was trying to replicate: -

Well fellas... I got some time at the bench yesterday and think I make a pretty good accomplishment with what I worked on and happy with it so far. Hoping to get some more time today at the bench but I need to get some stuff done for work before I can play with the model today....lol. I worked more on the fuel system yesterday. I need to give a big shout out and thank you to Dave (Comp1839). He has been a big help to me though out this entire build with information on many of the little details I have been adding to this build. Dave spent an hour with me on the phone yesterday helping me with some dimensions and walking me thru some things with the fuel system. I am grateful for his help and this build wouldn't be were it is without his knowledge. Again, Thank you Dave. So I was working on the fuel shut off valve and the tee fittings that are attached to it. I spend about 7-1/2 to 8 hours yesterday fiddling with these 3 parts. It always tends to take longer than I think it will with some of these parts. it took a little while to figure out what I was going to do and how I wanted to make them. Not to mention that I redid some of them a few times because I messed up on cutting the correct lengths. Anyways here are some pics to share. Here is the start of the shut off valve and tee fittings. I decided to make them out of brass and solder them all up.: Here is some of the pieces after getting the brass stock cut to size: This is the Fuel Shut Off Valve, It is made up of 4 pieces that were all soldered together, There is still some more work that needs to be done. I need to make the lever that attaches to the body: Here is Tee Fitting #1. this one is also made up of 5 pieces. the two hex fittings are scale hardware hex nuts that I drilled out and soldered to the assembly: Here is Tee Fitting #2, This is made up of 6 pieces, and I did the same thing with the same scale hardware hex nuts: -

Henry.... Thank you. Yeah I was planning ahead by having extra's made...lol Bob... Thank you. Mike... Thank you my friend. Hakan... That is awesome you the visit was vacation. I have to tell you the Goodguys show is pretty nice and has a lot of great looking cars. I usually go to it but wasn't able to get to it this year. Hopefully next year and planning on taking my muscle car there. Darryl... Thank you. Man I sure wish I could get this thing to fire up... I bet it would sound wicked...lol Mark... Thank you Scott... Thank you. I guess I am trying to go for that Wow factor for myself just seeing if I can accomplish some of these details. I think you are right that once all of these little details come together it will just make the whole engine look great. Ira... Thank you. Johnny Boy.... Thank you my brother. -

Here is the fuel line mocked up in the chassis, I apologize that the focus is off a little was hard getting the shot I wanted: Here is a few shots of the fuel pump in primer. You will notice that I need to sand the joint smooth where I had glued it, once sanded you will never know it was two pieces...lol: -

Alright fellas.... here are some pics of my most recent progress. I know its not a whole lot but I went back and redid some of the fuel line stuff to make it where I was happy with it. Here are the pics... Well it started out where I busted one of my fuel pump bases from pulling a bolt out of it when I was transferring the holes to the engine block. I was glad I printed a few extra sets up: I then got the fuel pump glued together. I used superglue around the joint: I decided to redo the fuel tank supply port as well as making the fuel line out of brass tubing which I will cover with heat shrink tubing when I am done with it. I felt that the first supply port I made was way too big and didn't look right. I used two RB motion fittings and had to drill them out to fit the tubing:
