  1. There is a reason that writing the english language has developed to the point that it has: It makes it easier TO READ!
  2. Check out YouTube: James May Toy Stories Episode 1 Part 1. 1:1 Spitfire KIT built by kids and wheeled out of the hanger.
  3. #7, is that an Austin badge?
  4. They could try advertizing on TV. Do people still watch TV? Anyhow, I think they leave all advertizing up to the hobby shops. I don't see any hobby ads on the networks.
  5. I have had that happen. I shut it down and restarted and it was fine.
  6. $40 bucks for a kit (any subject) equals hours of enjoyment for pennies. How many blow that on one evening of booze and smokes (rhetorical question)? 'nuff said.
  7. Welcome aboard! How about sending some of your surplus weather west?
  8. Thanks for the vote of confidence Gary but there is a long way to go yet! I still have to line the interior and make some sort of 'cage' and then there is the rear suspension ( it really does not have one, basically just sort of bolted to the undersides) to sort of tart up a bit.
  9. Now you're cookin'!
  10. So, it looks like it is going to be white, mostly, sort of...
  11. OK then, not much to see today but what was done took some time. Worked on the driver's door, opened up the door latch handle and tore out the speaker. Tried to make the interior panel/armrest look like it is about to fall off. Finished the glove box and cut off the hinge on the passenger door, it will be 'welded' in place, the glove box takes up the space the hinge wanted to occupy. I will have to check out the interweb for more interior pics to see how else I can abuse this thing!

    Nice job.
  13. Thanks guys, did not get much done today, just ripped out the radio and beat up the glove box door.
  14. Today, only managed to add a brace for the rad and mounted the lower rad hose. The goof that put on the bottom clamp must have reached up from underneath!
  15. Did a little distressing of the passenger-door and got the upper rad hose mounted.
  16. Best laugh I have had all day! Even beats the story of one of my team-mates getting a speeding ticket in Washington last weekend.
  17. Looks pretty good for having been stepped on a bit!
  18. OK, sorry, but I have to ask, where does the 'Fallin' Angel' come from? (I know, sometimes I am not the brightest bulb etc...)
  19. Thanks for the compliment! I enjoy doing THAT, it is trying to get that 'new car shine' that I find difficult and drives ME nuts. Meanwhile: took the saw to the body and started on the interior by distressing the seats a little.
  20. I cannot believe that I posed that question! Must be too many late nights. Sorry for double posting.
  21. More! Managed to get some more engine detailing done. More of a headache than it should have been because of the afore mentioned mental lapse! Oldztimers I guess. A few more wires etc. to add but must wait until the body is bolted on for the last time, the firewall is part of it. Cry for help! Does anyone know exactly where the lower rad hose is connected to the engine. My best guess is that it is near the bottom of the waterpump but cannot find any pics to varify. Any help muchly appreciated!
  22. A pic of the underside, as far as it goes. The tires will have to be finished with acrylics, at least they slide off the rims easily so I don't have to take anything apart. I had to make a distributor and should have installed it before gluing the engine into the bay (sigh!) along with some assorted piping etc. Got carried away and forgot the proper sequence of events!
  23. I just saw this thread and went and read over the other, now locked, thread. The best that I can say is that not many of the posters ended up in their best light.
  24. Nice job of getting it all to blend.
