I don't know why I didn't pick that one and it's stablemate driven by Louis Hamilton at a show recently, but they are both on my "to get" list. I did want to know though, what is the body molded in? Is it chrome similar to the real car? Could you maybe post a pic or two of the Button car? -

And if you look at the RETAIL price, it is $92, and after adding sales tax or shipping etc, you're going to be at or above $100. Also, I don't care if there are probably cheaper prices to be found, I would much rather go to my LHS and say hi to the owner and give them my little donation to keep them in business, no matter if I have to pay a couple of dollars more. I'm fortunate enough to have three LHSs in my area, and I know each owner personally since I've dealt with them for probably around 25 years, and they usually cut me some good deals anyway, even though they all know I would much rather come to their shops instead of saving a couple dollars ordering online. You can call me dumb, stupid, or whatever else, but when I hear others on the forums I belong to complain they have no LHS within 100 miles of them, I feel fortunate for the 3 I have within 10 miles of me I'll spend that extra dollar or two for the piece of mind that when I want or need a kit or supplies, I'll have them in my hands within 15 minutes (or more depending on how much I shop) instead of having to put a project on hold for a week or more waiting for them to be shipped. If the odd chance they are out of what I need, these three businessmen will make sure I get it ASAP, they will special order it for me. Oh, and just to get this thread back on it's original track, I'll be impatiently waiting for this fine reefer to hit my LHS's shelves supporting my local businesses, and dare I say, friends! -

And here I thought by the title you had some amazing scratchbuilt D11 or heavily modified D8 to make me drool! At least the paint wasn't wet, picking cat hair out of fresh paint is a pain in the you know what, and don't ask how I know that! -

And shipped to my address, $79.99, which is still about $20 more than I can take the short 10 minute drive to my LHS (where I prefer to spend my money) and buy a Lonestar for just a little over $50. -
Hopefully it won't be on life support long!! And you find that camera yet??

Yeah, or the price will stay around $100, which is about the going rate of the reiussed FLC, correct?? -
Thanks Jonathan, I need all the luck I can get! Depending on the release dates of the Prostar and new reefer from Moebius, I might have to push the end deadline back again!!!

Nothing wrong with that Jonathan, because it is like that. A perfect example is this years Contructor's Champions Red Bull Racing and the one's they beat, McLaren and Ferarri. Red Bull just builds a kick butt car they pour tons of money into developing and the result is they win the Contructor's Championship and millions to pour into next years cars. I have to say though, if Red Bull didn't have the talented driver they have with champion Sebatian Vettel, they wouldn't have much because no matter how advandced F1 is compared to NASCAR, both need talented drivers to actually get the cars around the track. And don't feel bad Jonathan, I don't know much about F1 either, other than I think all the technical aspects of it is what drew me in. I've actually gotten to where I DVR the races and watch them flag to flag, where many times I'll fast forward the DVR through NASCAR races to the last 10 laps or so if I can't watch the entire race. -
Well thanks for giving it some CRP Jonathan!! I'm sorry I haven't been checking in lately, but between the 12 hr a day job I mentioned back in September that, thanks to my wonderfully unstable high blood pressure, I don't have to worry about any more and trying to find a new job outside of driving, I have just had my mind on other things than building. Hopefully things will start improving around here before I totally loose what little of my mind I have left! Also Steve, I just noticed (PLEASE FORGIVE ME! ) your post wanting to enter, and I will get you added to the entry list. Please just remember to add some pics of what you are starting with. Also, speaking of the entry list, if I have missed more than just Steve's entry ideas and I have not added you to the list or if you have posted pics of your entries and I have not put the * beside them to indicate you are officially entered in the build, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

I don't frequent antique shops, but there was a time that me and my fiancee was on a road trip with a friend's mom to pick my friend up from northern PA, and on the way back from the Poconos we stopped at an antique shop along the way. I was surprised to find a couple models there and picked up a Monogram Duesenberg and a Monogram Ferarri Testarosa that were still sealed inside for about $5 a piece. -

Well after I read you were thinking the same thing, I just thought I'd let you know you had a great idea, great enough Revell sold it!! And hey, now you have an idea how good the combo looks together too! -

I've became a huge F1 fan over the past couple of years, and sad to see the season end tomorrow in Brazil, but I know it won't be long until the 2012 season starts. As for the modeling side, I have started a collection of them, and started one of my Ferarris, but other builds just seem to keep pushing it to the back burner. We are here, maybe we just need to concentrate on working on them more and come out of the closet so to speak! -

highway replied to Dave Metzner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Yeah, that would be nice too James, but I like the 880 the most because it has that long hood look. I spent enough time behind short hood Intertrashionals and Freightliner FLD 120s, and even a Volvo for a short time, but I never enjoyed the road more than in my long hood Classic XL! Yeah, long hoods can be a pain in the BLEEPITY BLEEPING BLEEP in a tight spot, and I had my share of tight places to stuff that Classic and later the Mack CH613 daycab I drove with a set forward axle doing local deliveries where I sometimes wished I has shorter hoods, but I managed! I just love my long hood trucks! -

I have to say I like the look of this idea too, Rob. Personally, I like the way the signage is one the trailer just the way it is too, it looks like the way a sign would have been bolted onto the sides instead of painted on the trailer itself. -
How are you trying to upload the pics James, through the site or a photo sharing site like fotki or photobucket?? If it's through the site, save yourself the time and hassle and go to photobucket.com and set up a photobucket account. It's free to set up and use, and after you have the pics uploaded copy the IMG code for the pic and then add the pic to the text box here by using CTRL+V to paste the IMG code in the text box. Be sure to have the forum and photobucket open in two separate tabs or windows!

Ronald, look near the bottom of the main forum page and you'll see a section that is titled "Links, Advertisers, and Web Sites". You might find some useful sites there.

Yep, not saying AMT didn't make a nice kit back in the day, but that's the thing, they're back in the day. I'm just so happy to see Moebius taking the time to listen to us and give us the modern rigs we crave and trailers for them to pull. It's sad the only trailer I have until these hit the market that looked good behind my less than thrilling (just because there is no engine in it) Italeri Volvo VN was a container! Hey, maybe that's another idea for the Moebius wish list, the Volvo VT880. Then maybe everyone would stop asking me if I want to get rid (the answer is no, by the way) of my VN!
