  1. COOL! I have to start getting some reference pics at the truck stops!
  2. Yes Anton, the Ford has a Cummins, as does all of Italeri's and Revell AG Italeri rebox kits. The only American trucks in Italeri's line that do not have Cummins engines are the Peterbilt 377 A/E and Peterbilt 378, which have Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines. John, if you don't see your other thread asking about this question, I posted a (hopefully) useful link for you there. Also, if you have a truck dealer (any brand, as Cummins engines are used in almost every truck brand) or farm supply store, they should have the correct Cummins Sand Beige engine paint for you to have the correct color.
  3. If it helps any, the engine in the Ford Aeromax is a Cummins. I'm not sure what the exact model is, but it is a Cummins. Try looking through the pics here: http://www.jobbersinc.com/Cummins_engine.htm Scroll down the page until you find the pics of the NTC 300 Big Cam II or the NTC 350 Big Cam III. These I believe are the closest to the engine in the Ford kit. I'd double check, but my kit is in West Virginia in storage and I'm sitting behind the wheel of my Peterbilt in Omaha, Nebraska!
  4. That trailer is GREAT!! I'm not sure if you mentioned it before, but will it have ERB markings like the Lonestar? I've been noticing ERB trucks while on the road and noticed most of their trailers are these Great Danes. I'd love to build a nice ERB Lonestar and trailer after I figure out someway to build while I'm living in the house that Peterbilt! Also, I notice you live in Mishawaka. Maybe sometime we could meet up and you can get some ideas for hopefully a couple more future Moebius kits, a 2012 Peterbilt 386 and Wabash 53 foot dry van with Werner markings!
  5. As for the model, I like it a lot!! I'm happy to hear it will have Erb markings, I'll have to make sure to get some pics while I'm out and about!
  6. Actually Dingo, here in the states the 5th wheelers like the one I posted the pic of in the opening post of the thread fall under the same US DOT regulations as us big trucks do, and the reason I've allowed them to be in the build. They are a common sight in the truckstops here, too. As for your entry, I will get it added to the list here shortly and if anyone has been missed, please send me a PM and let me know to add your entry, and please do it by PM ONLY so I don't miss it here in the thread! The reason is I haven't been able to work on the little big rigs lately because I have been working on something a little larger, this! This is my 2012 Pete 386 that I have been cruising the nation's highways in! I had a very bad December and on top of being jobless, I also lost my home I was renting and the relationship I had with my now ex fiancee of 10 years. So, being out of work, homeless and alone, I decided to go back to the road. As such, until I have the chance to get mobile internet services, my time to check in on the forum is very limited to time that I spend in a motel room as I'm doing at the moment or when I get home to a friend's house. Keep building on and hopefully soon I can at least get things straightened out so I can build again, in the meantime I'll be rolling down the highway in the 1:1!!
  7. Neither, it's got a Cummins ISX in it. I'm not sure on the horsepower, I haven't looked yet!
  8. I actually picked this up yesterday, but I didn't have interent access until today. It's my new 2012 Peterbilt 386 with less than 30,000 miles on it, and the reason I'm not on here much anymore.
  9. I just felt everyone involved with this build should know what is going on in my life outside here, just so you don't think I've left everyone. As of Tuesday Dec. 20, 2011, I will be evicted from my home and I will not be online indefinitely because I don't have anywhere to go. Please keep the build going and I will catch up whenever I can and life gets sorted out. Thanks, Matt.
  10. You would be better off just getting the Freuhauf van and getting the aftermarket decals from Modeltruckin.com instead. The AMT kit decals are incorrect for the first trailer and the trailer is incorrect for the second movie's trailer. It is a mix of the two, a trailer (I think Great Dane) to represent the Hobbs trailer from the first movie but the decals represent the decals found on the second movie's silver trailer.
  11. I must disagree, I had some Alumilite that I made parts from that was open and much older than three months. I would guess it was close to 2 or 3 years old and was still usable. If it gets a hole in the bottle somewhere though, it's junk! I must have accidentally tweaked the top when I had put the cap back on it the last good time I'd used it, and put a small crack in the lid. After that, it would not set at all.
  12. Most reefer trailers are not lined with wood, but rather a fiberglass material.
  13. Yeah, this is not like JR at all. I really pray that it is something simple and nothing serious.
  14. I think you'd better watch the replay Mike, the "wheelchair" came in THIRD!!!
  15. And just in case they are not NASCAR or drag racing builds, since it seems Indy, F1, or any other form of racing that doesn't go in a straight line or round and round doesn't exist here, you can simply post the other types of racing cars in the "Under Glass" section for finished builds or "On the workbench" for in progress builds.
  16. I didn't even know anyone else was even posting at the same time as me!!
  17. That's still 1 more than me for this year, and 2 more than last year!!
  18. As seen mostly in wanted or trade postings, "bump" is simply bumping the thread up to new content when it has been unanswered for a period of time. An example of this is you post that you want or need a blinker fluid bottle for a 2975 XYZ, and nobody answers for a week, you would "bump" the thread back to the top of the list in the "Wanted" section. That way, someone who may have missed the posting before may see it the second time around, and you just might get your elusive part!
  19. I'm guessing you mean my comment on someday actually dropping that Allison in a semi!?!? If you think that's insane, the community build me and two friends were all building (and never finished) rigs for were all putting Allisons in our rigs and that was the reason mine failed. They came up with the extra engine for me after I had the interior almost finished and the body and frame completely painted, and I wasn't going to redo the truck just to make the engine fit. Oh, and did I mention the "Boss" of our fantasy company was going to have TWO Allisons powering his rig!!
  20. I agree, and an 06 GT350H to go beside the 66!!
  21. Michelle, with all respect, both OCC and Paul Jr. do build many of the pieces like fenders and tanks. A prime example for OCC is Rick, he has fabricated many tanks from scratch and the tank used on Paul Jr.'s build off bike was also made from scratch. I don't think exhaust coming through the tank is a standard tank! Now on the other hand, there have been a fair share of bikes, mainly from OCC, that I've seen them take an "off the shelf" piece and modify, but they do fabricate pieces to change them into a sort of unique piece. I also purposely left out the wheels and frames because if I remember, OCC has built a couple of their frames, and made in house wheels a time or two, but I'd be willing to bet Jesse has bought wheels and frames for other projects also. No matter the quality of the builder, those pieces are more than likely bought, but it was nice to see this project meant enough to Jesse for him to build it ground up. It was nice to see pieces of steel turn into a beautiful machine! By the way, if anyone wants to see some very nice pics of either bike or that "thing", go to http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/american-chopper/chopper-live/ , and don't forget to vote early and often for Jesse!!
  22. I prefer the Highway Hanger paint stand myself, just a simple metal coathanger bent in half and the tips spread close enough together to fit inside the body but just far enough apart to have tension to hold the body in place. Add a little masking tape to the ends and tape the tips of the hanger to the inside of the body and spray away. All that never gets painted inside the body are the small contact areas where the coathanger touches or a little larger area where the tape is if I use the masking tape as added security. After painting, I simply hang the hanger from the knobs of my hutch of my workbench or somewhere else where the hanger can hang freely without touching anything and let dry. This also, 99.9% of the time, hangs the wet paint upside down, so there is little chance of dust or little flying critters ending up in the paint. The best part of my method is it costs nothing if you were like me and work at a place that cleans your work uniform for you, and you're guaranteed of at least getting five new hangers to add to your collection each week!! Oh, and as for the unpainted areas left behind, I don't worry about them. I know they're there, and it just doesn't bother me. It's not going to keep me up at night to know there is a small area like this (seen just under the roof line) : or that the underneath of these seats: aren't painted. I know that once they are in place, nobody will ever see those areas of those parts again, including me, and aren't worth the extra time or the waste of paint!
  23. Lee, I have to agree, I personally like Jesse's bike better than either Paul Jr.'s or Paul Sr.'s, and that is coming from a long time (since the first episode in fact) viewer of "American Chopper". I even have quite a few of the 1/18 scale diecast kits that were put out of the bikes. I do like Paul Jr,'s bike over the "machine" of OCC and Paul Sr., but I think that is mostly because I like Paulie's design sense and the fact that I think that "machine" of Paul Sr.'s just looks like a toy more than a bike.
