  1. That is a great story of a car that has stuck with you. Real nice job on the build too.
  2. Thank you guy's. I don't have the can of Tamia paint so I don't have the TS# for it. I beleive it was called Mica Blue. The Carbon Fiber decals are Scale Motorsport Hi- Def #1524. This was a quick build that I enjoyed. It took me 3 weeks in my spare time to build it.
  3. I thought I would show you guys this one. I just finished it up and I'm real happy with it. I built this one right out of the box with just the addition of the Scale Motorsports carbon fiber decal used on the roof, rockers and front splitter. I used Tamia spray paints on this one. The clear did react with the testors black basecoat that I put under the carbon fiber decal. It wrinkled up mildly. I added a few more coats of clear to the roof and hid it. I used Testors model master clear for the second coats. Also I did have a problem with the hood hinge support peice that goes under the nose. It hit the aircleaner inlet tube and had to be notched for the chassis to sit in the body. All comments are welcome.
  4. I can't beleive you guys are picking on the heavily weathered gentlemen. Here is my view of displays. They are more for the participants than the judges. I like them because they show everyone the details of the model but keep it simple. As for the judges, They should be able to pick up the models for closer inspection and really get a good look at the finished models. The judgeing I have done we were allowed to do that unless the builder didn't want it picked up or the display was done so that it was not nessasary. Some classes like curbside are judged as they sit on the table. Of cource each show is different in the details.
  5. Here is my project car that is still my daily driver. I drive this to and from work. This is one of my favorite pics but it is over 10 years old. It is now a green primer. Someday I will get to the paint job. It has a 440 with aluminum heads and M1 intake, 727 with a TCI street fighter valve body and 2500 stall converter, 3:55 sure grip 8 3/4 rear. Mosier axles and 4 wheel disc brakes. It handles very well with the custom sway bars front and rear. She gets tons of attention on the road and is fun to drive. I have a 2nd one for parts as they are very rare. It's a 71 Plymouth Sport Suburban. I switched the front over to look like a 1970. Here is my wifes current daily driver. She drives this one to work and we use it on the weekends. It's a 1999 S10 Xtreme that I bought new. It is loaded with a 4.3 and an auto. She now has 165k on her and has been great to us. Most upgrades are cosmetic and she rolls on 20's. I did upgrade the brakes to SSB 4 wheel discs bat after this pic was taken. And our last car. This one has been a project for the last 7 years. My wife bought it in 96 when we were dating. It's a 71 Chevelle Malibu. It now has a 350 with Vortec heads and is running about 375 hp. Over the past 7 years it got a 4L60 auto, 12 bolt with 3:73 and eaton pozi, new 2.5 dual custom exhaust and headers. Aluminum drive shaft upgrade. The last 4 years have been lots of body work. She is almost ready for paint. I'm blocksanding now and plan to have paint on her by the end of the month. Here is a current pic.
  6. The hood is also unique to a 61. It has two extra buldges that run down the hood from just behind the headlights.
  7. Hey, Rob Revell did do a 66 GT350 just before it was redone as a GT350H. Here is the box art. I'm glad they now have the decals now in white stock configuration. Raoul
