  4. Clay, the rims on the AMT '39 Wagon Rod look pretty close to those from the pic.. 'course my eyes aint what they were. http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz304/Hemithunder/DSCF2614.jpg
  5. Grzegorz, nice build I've never seen one of them as a model. Here are some pics and a bit of info. http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz304/Hemithunder/78K-Car-fb4.jpg http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz304/Hemithunder/78K-Car-fb3.jpg http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz304/Hemithunder/78K-Car-fb5.jpg http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz304/Hemithunder/78K-Car-fb1.jpg sorry it's a link, but I cant figure out how to get pics to just come up.
  6. Bill. I have too agree with everybody else. Absolutely fantastic tutorial. I've learned an incredible amount from this post. I've found little tricks of my own here and there over the years to accomplish some of the results, but your ways are easier by far and your clear way of teaching is GREAT! Thank-you Very much for this build and I'll also agree you should write a book! But why only one? Take a reader poll with several models and build/write the entire build. 10, 20 pages with your clean pics and clear instructions. A life saver for our hobby! Maybe even a larger volume showing all the basics. Drew
  7. Looking cool. Love the frame.
  8. Looking Great! Sickfish... I'll take a pair of shocks and, oh, let's say a hundred U-bolts?
  9. Looks Sharp! But, whose ganna play the Bandit? Burt's gettin to old to be diving acrossed car hoods.
  10. I use.. when I do this VERY rarely.. a used dryer sheet cut to fit then dipped in a white glue 50/50 mix that has been darken with some acrylic paint.. cant get to one that has this treatment though.. It works fairly well though
  11. Nice decals indeed. Cool looking truck.
  12. Cranky....? With these skills whats to be cranky about? Absolutely Amazing.. I dont have an airbrush but I thought hey I'll give this a try.. Not too bad... What do you use to buff with? That's always been one of my bigest problems. I can do an old beater without any problems but High class paint... Here's a pic of my first attempt.. it wont be the last
  13. These are about 20 years... I think.. old just thought I'd throw 'em and see if they stick. NEVER try to out run a HEMI with a 340 T/A p.s. 4 wheeler prob 10 or 12 years old. added to toy

  15. What did it cost ya?
  16. ...throws away all painting paraphernalia.. and decides that after seeing your other work and this... yes I hate you! These are absolutely friggin amazing!!!
  17. Yip. That scene is in 2f2f.. the prob is they SAY hemi.. then later you see under hood ....no HEMI!
  18. Heres how I do it, Darren. It may not be right but it works. Mutiple layer sprayed super thin. Prep body for paint like normal, if your going to put (rust-throughs) in with a dremal, dents .ect do it. Then layer thin coats of paint. Here is my order: 1. Red primer 2. Satin nickel 3. Gloss brown 4. Flat black 5. Gloss red 6. Gloss yellow 7. your finale body color Let the primer dry completly, then spay 2,3,4,5,6 on about two or three minutes apart so they blend on the body.... light, light, light coats or it's a big mess. After those dry for a few hours spray your finale color then let it dry completely. Sand 320 all the way upto 1200 grit then add finishing touches by hand. I look at reference pictures for paterns, and go slow working from top down. And be careful not to sand through the primer. Hope this helps.
