  5. Thank you everyone. Jim, I have never heard of or seen this car before, either. It was sent to me by a client. I do like the graphics & the fact that is was a very early Allen Johnson car.
  6. This car raced in the IMSA/GTU class. This started as an older Meri white metal kit from that time. I rebuilt the interior. The seat & fire bottle came from my parts bin. The harness is wine bottle foil ( the etched fittings were added after paint). The white parts are from Evergreen plastic. Added rain gutters & rebuilt the window moldings to the body. Reshaped the front wheel wells a well. I also rescribed the panel lines, they were very shallow & a couple were missing. The wheels are an old set from Robustelli. Paint is Tamiya acrylics. The yellow area on the rear fender/ door is paint. The decals in that area did not look good. Cleared the car with Dupont Chroma Clear.

  20. The sedan I built this past spring was sold to a long time friend & he wanted a case for it. The case came from BBR . The car looked lost in the large case, so I dug into my Model railroad ground work stuff & had some fun. I have not used any of this stuff many years. The wood base was cut from scrap pine on my cut off saw & then shaped on a router table. I made it so the black plastic base snapped over the wood. The ground work was carved from foam, covered with Celuclay & when dry painted, washed & dry brushed with varying shades of brown acrylic paint. When that was dry I applied railroad static grass. The tree is from Woodland Scenics. The tree is cast in soft white metal, so you can bend it to any shape you like. After priming & paint, the colored foam was applied for the foliage. The road is 600 automotive wet & dry sand paper glued to some scrap illustration board. The white line was masked off & painted.
