  1. The inks are liquitex, I brushed them on, but like I had mentioned it just balled up. I did however figure something out, once I smeared it with my finger it worked, and a little goes a very long way. Unless someone else has used them, I'm going to buy some rags tomorrow and try it that way.
  2. Here is my first show, with first place. My wife's first complete model took third last year This one took third as well I would love to build the mustang and Mercedes again.
  3. I'll be checking in the future, I can for think of some builds for this.
  4. Just something I've been working on, waiting for other stuff to catch up. I have some fine tuning on the engine to do, so here it is as it sets. The reason for the gloss red, was because one can of my flat does not work, the other was coming out like play doh. These were also taken with my phone.
  5. Ok, so my first attempt is less than successful lol. More blue on my fingers, than on the headers. Now I have the ink for this but it balled up on my unless I put it on heavy. My blue was more successful, than the the others. Is there a trick to this stuff?
  6. For everyone that shops, on ebay. I bought some kynar wire from http://myworld.ebay.com/electronics52/ they are located in the UK, but ship all over. Prices are reasonable for 10 meters of wire. They will ship in specified lengths (I.e. 2 m of yellow, 2 m blue, etc)
  7. Such as the competition with its sub categories.
  8. Why can't there be sub categories?
  9. Sadly my dad has his truck broken into, mind you it was in broad daylight right along side a busy highway. It was rush hour, and where he had his truck parked is where the entrance to a daycare was and people were right beside the truck. Well he seen them right as they were leaving because he seen his tools in the back. It was adults that stole the tools.
  10. Well since its a tester car I went ahead with a white top.
  11. Sweet I will check them out. Thank you.
  12. You need some outside pics with that one. It's got the "real factor" to it. Great job.
  13. I like it, but I am also a big mustang fan. I have built the same kit and plan on building it again. Keep up the good work.
  14. Pat, yes sir I do have an airbrush and compressor. But I am missing an adapter and I also don't have a place to use it.
  15. Pat, because that's my only option Lee I'm not at my desk, it was the blue/green powder. They do not carry it anymore.
  16. I read it on the bottle that I could. Right now that is my only option, plus It works really well for the circumstances.
  17. All in all its just a cheaper way to get them out the door.
  18. Well here it is, it will get a gloss white top to go with it. And the stock wheels. I have a red one just like it that will get the same treatment without the mold lines lol Edit: This is the second option Copper, pearl powder, candy green (no clear yet)
  19. Halo all the way
  20. Well I went ahead with the paint, I was preparing this for a car show and stupid on my part I did not think about the mold lines. I bought this kit built w/o paint. So I did not see them until the paint was on. So it goes on a shelf when I'm done lol.
  21. True, I did not think about that. Btw for everyone that wants to know, I picked the pearl powder up at hobby lobby. It's a small bottle called pearl ex. It's approximately $5 w/o the coupon. Well worth it.
  22. Ok so I'm not sure where this would go, other than Q&A. Here goes I have three options. More importantly it is accomplishing something. Painting spoons comes out better than my cars. Before I go on I will post what I done, starting with the left The pearl powder is dry brushed 1: Copper base, candy green (no clear yet) 2: Copper base, pearl powder, candy green. ( no clear yet) 3: Copper base, candy green, pearl powder, pearl clear
  23. Lol I know what you mean. I bought one for a dollar at a goodwill and even it being built I am trying to finish it.
  24. Chad, everyone that attends this show is small time, myself included. I'm working ona couple right now to go to the shows this year. It's more than the models though, you get to meet a lot of people in the same hobby as well winning prizes. And bring plenty of money if you do come lol. I've made the mistake and hardly had any my first year.
