  1. Ask a hundred people, you will get one hundred different answers. Seems to me if you tap a child's hand to correct him someone will scream abuse. I grew up with a belt on my behind, and I credit that and my parents teaching for what I am today. I'm not saying to correct him that way, just use wisdom, and most of all use common sence. There are ways to teach respect, but if you are not firm, that kid will just run all over you.
  2. Yea I was thinking that as well, thank you Casey that's what I was looking for. I did happen to find some crates but they were open to see the engine. I came to the point of either building a pallet with a cardboard box or a closed crate.
  3. Ok, that's what I figured, thank you. I have no engine parts at all so it will be a closed crate. I will probably add a few performance parts boxs on top as well.
  4. Ok here is one for you car gurus. I've done a search on this and I'm not sure on what I'm exactly looking for. So here is the deal, I have a 1:16 cobra that I bought without an engine. What I want to do is build a diorama with the car painted etc. and have a engine setting by it. Now here is my question, if buying a crate engine is it actually shipped in a crate or what? How are all the parts shipped?
  5. That car looks great, i need to get back working on mine. Btw If you guys want more info, I'm not sure where you get your stuff but I do have links to a guy that builds this stuff.
  6. Looks great, just for a future note. Most of the newer mustangs have a coating on the subframe, and floor. To get the color I mixed yellow gold and brass and it comes out close.
  7. We all have sniped, regardless of using a third party site or not. I have not used a third party site, but as to my understanding you can place bids up until the last second. As long as that auction is open its fair game.
  8. Jamie, that advice is the best, and from one of the masters of paint. As far as correcting that paint job. I am not sure how duplicolor works. You may try letting it soak in some purple power overnight then use a tooth brush to scrub it clean under running water. This what I do when I mess up. If the paint don't come off, that's ok just sand it lightly make sure there are no scratches.
  9. Close to what I want, did you use the "wood" base enamel with streaks of darker brown or the "rust" color?
  10. Wow, that's insane. Do you use decal paper or regular paper and glue it on?
  11. Not sure of the beltway of putting this, but I want to paint wood on the interior of a car. What is the best way to do this?
  12. Getting the interior started. This is a better shot of the leaf springs with an attempt to weather Started wiring the engine, only have white wire
  13. The hangers you can get at Wally World. A pack of ten should be under two bucks.
  14. Lol, I believe so, yes I have the chargum. Charger/ magnum. I have pics of it on the work bench. I need to get it done for the April show. But I have a 1/8 scale for Christmas that I want to build for the same show.
  15. Ah, ok I'm building a flinstone casting, I just assumed they all had to be kit bashed at some point.
  16. Wow, I have book marked for future use.
  17. No instructions per say, you have to kit bash with another kit, which will be the instructions. It should tell you what other kit you need at least.
  18. I will have to check that Walmart can out, it's cheap enough. Second one I will try is that Krylon. One reason I like most krylons is that they come out smooth.
  19. I've considered the rust but wasn't sure about it. Because I compared their high heat to krylons high heat and there was no comparison.
  20. I know it's been covered before, and I have not found it. I did a Search for it with a lot of different results. I usually use krylon BBQ black for my semi gloss. It did really well until they stopped carrying it. I switched to krylons semigloss black. I use it one time with excellent results. I use it again and it comes out watery after a good shaking. Are there any other cheap semi gloss black paints that I could use?
  21. 3D printing programs, should be relatively close to cnc programs, They are not that hard to figure out
  22. Another in the projects, can't even finish one lol. Main reason was I lost my main source for aluminum paint. Now I lost my source for satin black and can't find anything to compare. Anyway here we are the classic 1953 Hudson. Mild changes, can't really say its custom. First up, I did not like the instructs for the semi gloss black frame so I just painted it the color I'm painting the car. Italian Red, I tried some weathering. Second is the engine in process, almost complete with it. Have to wire it and that's the hard part. Rust oleum gold Brushed aluminum with some black thrown in. Other side Flocked the interior Seats will be satin white, with wood accents. Finally the front.
  23. Thank you, at the same time that is crazy. That is my dads hometown. I'm getting down to the finicky stuff on the engine and I'm debating on wiring this thing now. This distributor is seemingly smaller than usual.
  24. Just making sure before I put my foot in my mouth for what I was going to say. Now that I know, I have seen bill's work in person it is truly amazing. I think micro nitro and other machinist have real compitition on their hands. If that's what it was about.
  25. Bill, did you come to the Arkansas show back in April?
