  1. What about Audi Murphy in the movie To Hell and Back which is supposed to be a true story?
  2. Why stop now? You won't love it loud if you develop tinnitus.
  3. Wow Jay, that Caddy looks pretty sweet. Great job!
  4. Really nice job on that Road Runner Jim and I like the exhaust tips too. I built one of those kits earlier this year and didn't like the kit tips so I just used polished aluminum tubing with a balogna (45 degree) cut on the end. BTW there is no bottle ahead of the windshield washer bottle on the passenger side as one of my good buddies owns a 1:1 '70 Road Runner. I just love dem B-body Mopars!
  5. I like listening to music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's as that's when I enjoyed it the most.
  6. I hope the surgery and recovery goes well for your wife, as I've had both of mine replaced and it was no sweat. And yes I also like to cook when I feel like it, and sometimes when I have to.
  7. Danny at Scenes Unlimited has some great products and great service also.
  8. I believe that several of those cars from that era ran carburetors and then switched to injectors just like Phil Bonner's Daddy Warbucks Falcon and Mustang cars
  9. On the highways they did have to be propped up on their sides as I believe they were 'bout 14' wide if I remember correctly.
  10. Yes as they're hydro planes which means when they're up to speed the only part of them that touches the water is the back part of the sponsons about the area of a bandana on each side and the propeller. Depending upon the water conditions (chop) these boats at the time were topping out at 200 mph and in the photo above it is coming out of that turn at 100 mph+. In the 90's I've seen these boats race at Milwaukee, Kansas City, Detroit, and Evansville, and it was really awesome to be there.
  11. Congrats Bob and I hope that your survival continues at least 'till you get all your models built and a few more along the way. I too am grateful for each and every day for a lot of reasons.
  12. Good luck Steve and I hope that your recovery goes well. I've made a few trips to Evansville back in the 90's to see these......................
  13. I also collect license plates to hang on my garage wall and picked up one from Nova Scotia last fall when I was there.
  14. My model building has also slowed down even more because of my age, spending time at car shows and cruise nights, watching TOO much baseball on TV, and of course spending too much time on this keyboard also. Or it could be poor time management, hmmmm.
  15. Very nice build on that Willys as I'm a "gasser fan" and have built a few of those kits also.
