  1. Thanks for the comments guys. This was a "simple" kit but and "old favorite" and I enjoyed building it.
  2. A builder by the name of Dennis from Wiinnipeg, Canada had the '60 Bonneville convertible at the Milwaukee NNL last Saturday and it was "drop-dead-gorgeous."
  3. This is the cover car for the Oct. 1959 issue of Hot Rod Magazine which Monogram Models had copeid and added a few parts of their own such as fenders, head & tail lights, windshield, up-top, and rear bumper. They called their kit the Green Hornet. I used Testors Mystic Emerald for the body, Spaz-Stix for the wheel backs, vinyl inserts for the interior over white, and added a dash panel w/gauges, as well as screening for the grille opening.
  4. Today is Monday Kerry and I hope that your daughter Lily is doing well.
  5. I would like to go to the NNL East but it's too long a haul for me. Maybe I'll get up to the NNL North some day in Minneapolis.
  6. I just saw the 1 : 1 movie car a couple of weeks ago at the Volo Auto Museum. They might have some photos of it on: www.volocars.com
  7. I would HIGHLY recomend that you attend an NNL and maybe the one in Toledo in Oct. would be closer for you. I have attended about 18 NNLs and I hope that I'm not done yet. They are a LOT of fun as there is great "eye candy", camaraderie, and often as swap meet as well. Try it!
  8. Real nice build on that Chevy and I remember when the guys used to have "lakes plugs" exiting right behind the front tires.
  9. I believe it was Rod Maskiw's '68 Dart if I'm not mistaken.
  10. But you've made other shows, so count your blessings.
  11. REAL good news!
  12. It was good to meet you Casey and nice photos also. I'm glad you liked my Green Hornet build which is really a copy of the "Grasshopper" 1 : 1 car that was built in 1959 and was the cover car for the October issue of Hot Rod Magazine.
  13. The 21st Milwauker NNL was great today and not only did I see a great bunch of guys that I know and awesome builds, there was a record number of 922 models on the tables. Talk about "eye candy," wow!
  14. As mentioned by Jeff, I would go with Pro-Tech for braided lines and fittings. Some of his other products are great to as I have used some on some of my builds.
  15. If it is so, it would be good news and I would have an order in real soon.
  16. I don't think that the Corvair's floor pans were the basis for any other makes of cars.
  17. No, but a good part of the crowd is waiting to get in at 3 pm and most of the models are on display by 4:30 pm. However one could come in at 6 pm or so and still put their models on the tables.
  18. Do you mean Brian Majewski?
  19. You did a great job on that build as it looks sweet. I ought to know as I had bought a brand new one in '65. It was the Corsa with the 140, 4-speed, and posi. Unsafe at any speed? I don't think so as I was doing 110mph in the pouring rain without as much as a quiver. I had rebuilt and modified the carbs and had Dick Scully give it a custom paint job as well. I also ran it a the drag strip several times and usually won my class if I recall.
  20. Great job on those builds Mike. Are you still the track photographer at Cordova? Will you be at the Milwaukee NNL this Saturday?
  21. Great photos and thanks Greg as I do have a copy of the Bikini Beach movie myself because of the drag racing scenes.
  22. Good luck to you and your daughter Lily, Kerry as I will pray for her. There will be other NNLs, trust me.
  23. It's warm in the Caribbean too.
  24. Another great lookin' build. Do you spray your pearl white over white primer or gloss white? Thanks.
