  1. Very nice build Neil .............. well done
  2. ..... After the forum going berserk this morning and generating three worthless posts, I will try this one more time (successfully I hope) The 1999 Slim Jim Monte Carlo owned by Labonte Racing in Trinity, NC and driven by Terry Labonte ............. the crew chief was "Papa" Bob Labonte ............ this car won the Busch race at Talladega in 1999 ............... a box stock Monogram kit, MCW paints, and decals from the parts box
  3. bad post

  5. Bad post
  6. ..... at the end of the AA/GD lifespan, a few individuals like the Paris brothers tried their hand at rear engine twins ................ here's my phantom rendition .................. two Jeb Allen Praying Mantis kits gave their lives for this build
  7. No need to be ashamed sir, there's nothing to be ashamed about. I wish I had a dollar for every time I picked up the wrong file and attached it to one of my posts. With that money I wouldn't be working now. I'm still amazed how closely your tastes (and builds) mirror my tastes and builds. You must be the "Long lost brother I never had" Again, I really do like your work, please keep on building and posting pictures of your builds. I really look forward to seeing them. I'm trying to get back to building again ........... have Terry's '96 Championship car and his '98 Kellogg's car on the paint stand as we speak. Also am working on the Candies & Hughes NHRA Championship Firebird funny car and Butch Leal's '85 Firebird Pro Stocker ready for paint also. Hope all is well with you, take care my friend John
  8. Hey Thomas ....... love your work ............... your tastes and mine run so closely together .................. you and I have built so many of the same cars .............. and I admire your work greatly Your 1986 Piedmont Delta 88 is no exception ........... I think it's a fine build ............ the stance is right on and your detail painting is great. However, I don't know where you are getting your information on the real car, but there seems to be a disconnect somewhere ............... first off, the Piedmont Olds Delta 88 was owned by Billy Hagen not Rick Hendrick (you can see Billy's Stratagraph well logging company's decal on the trunk), secondly the car won the Goodwrench 500 at Rockingham on March 2, 1986. It didn't win either of the Dover races that year. In fact, Terry won only that single race that year. He finished 12th in the Winston Cup standings with 3,473 points, 995 points behind Dale Earnhardt's winning 4,468 points. There were only 29 Winston Cup races in 1986, Terry had 1 win, 5 top 5's, 10 top 10's and won $ 522,234.73. If you want to check my info, it came from Greg Fielden's great race by race statistics book "Forty Years of Stock Car Racing Volume 4 The Modern Era 1972-1989" I hope I haven't offended you, that was not my intention. Again, I love your work. John
  9. The light lime green is paint, the darker green "splotches" are decals, and unfortunately Three Amigos are no longer in business
  10. Really good looking build ......... I like it
  11. Gary, this is the Altered States AS00-022 Shorty body. I had the option to extend the side engine fairings on the body to accommodate both engines or to remove the fairings and just keep the floor. Since I was building a "phantom" and didn't have to follow a specific body configuration I chose the last option.
  12. ..... a phantom Joe Pisano AA/GD ............. built from an AMT Two Much kit .............. body is an Altered States "Shorty" .............. twin Chevy small blocks from an AMT Double Dragster kit ............. blowers, injectors, and scoops from Competition Resins ............ Testors paints and decals from the parts box
  13. "The Grinch" ............. a 2000 Monte Carlo owned by Rick Hendrick and driven by Terry Labonte The build is a box stock Revell/Monogram kit with custom mixed Testors paint and Three Amigos decals.
  14. Great looking build sir .................. very bright and very nicely done
  15. Very nice build sir .............. you made that AMT Thunderbird look good
  16. This is a phantom Craftsman truck built from a Revell/Monogram Mike Skinner Goodwrench kit ................ it was built box stock ................. Testors red & yellow paints and parts box decals
  17. After a long line of Chevrolet powered funny cars, Kelly tried his hand at Pro/Stock with this little Vega The build uses an old Bruce Larson kit, a hood scoop out of an AMT '55 Chevrolet kit, scratch built front air dam, MCW paints , and Slixx decals
  18. Yes sir, they are the "Current" slicks.
  19. I'm sorry sir, I don't have the decal number and my usual sources don't have that decal in stock. I can tell you the slicks came from Competition Resins. They are the large slicks which fill up the rear fenderwells of the Revell kits much better than the kit tires. The only adjustment you have to make to use them is that the wheelie bars have to be mounted to the inside of the rear frame attachment points rather than the outside.
  20. Again, a pretty much box stock Revell chassis, but this time covered by a Competition Resins Cuda body Testors French Blue enamel darkened with a little black, Slixx decals
  21. The Green Elephant .......... owned by Jim Green of Seattle, Washington and driven to the 1973 NHRA World Finals Championship by Frank Hall Pretty much box stock Revell Jungle Jim kit, added ignition wires, Cobracolors Candy Green paint, and Slixx decals
  22. .... Another quick, fun build ............... Jess Tyree's '63 altered wheelbase Pontiac Tempest .............. again mostly box stock ............. blower from the parts box, injector and scoop from Comp Resins, magneto from Pro Tech ................... MCW white paint and Slixx decals
  23. Just a quick build using an AMT Falcon altered wheelbase kit and some parts box decals. I changed the front wheels as the kit had horrible replicas of 10 spokes. The paint is Cobracolors Candy Blueberry over a Cobracolors Sparkling Silver base. My rendition of a mythical K&L Kumpf Motors Falcon
  24. I'm not a fan of the "new Nascar" .......... cars or drivers ............ but I am a fan of well built models .............. very nicely done
  25. This 1981 Buick Regal owned by Billy Hagen and driven by Terry Labonte is the oldest (model year) build in my Terry Labonte collection ....... a box stock Monogram kit with decals sourced from multiple sources
