  6. ..... the big, blown AA/FD's were not the only fuel dragsters to run back in the '60's ......... there were some very potent, lightweight, unblown fuel dragsters that graced the strips at that time ............ my rendition is a little injected 413 Mopar powered A/FD ........... Two Much chassis, Ross Gibson resin 413 engine, "Shorty" body from Altered States, details by Pro Tech, Cobracolors Candy Grape paint, and decals from the parts box
  7. I appreciate the nice comment Mark, you're very kind. Getting the paint separation line crisp is not really all that difficult (if it were, I wouldn't be able to do it ) .......... If I am doing straight lines I use 3M Scotch frosted tape and make sure that I get the edges burnished down well ........ the Budweiser Thunderbird is an example of this method If I am having to do curves, I use 3M blue auto painters tape, either 1/8" wide or 1/4" wide depending upon the sharpness of the angle of the curve .......... both the Clabber Girl Thunderbird and the Kelloggs Monte Carlo paint separations were done with 1/8th inch tape ........... again burnish the edges well to make sure the tape is down tight ............ then cover the area adjacent to the blue tape which needs to be masked with Scotch frosted tape ..... make sure you get the frosted tape firmly attached to the blue painters tape Don't leave the tape on the body too long because if the paint dries too much it will crack and feather the edge, get the tape off as soon as the paint sets up firmly but before it completely dries. Another thing I do is make a paper copy of the decal and use it as a template on the body if the decal has to follow the curve separating the colors. I did that on both the the Clabber Girl and Kelloggs cars. I can't wait to see your Nova finished, it is going to be gorgeous
  8. Simply amazing Mark ........... your work is beyond belief
  9. Very nice build Neil ......... great work
  10. Cool idea, and beautiful execution
  11. Nice start Neil ........... why no spoiler and no glass ? I have to admit I don't understand why I'm seeing so many pictures of these cars without glass
  12. Do any of these kits come with "glass" ?
  13. Both these models are 1/16th scale
  14. ... Tim Beebe and John Mulligan's "Fighting Irish" in its 1969 Winternationals winning configuration ............ Revell kit, Competition Resins body panels, Hilborn injector and scoop, rear wheels, and valve covers ........... custom mixed Cobracolors lacquer and Slixx decals
  15. The major reason is probably because he is in Australia and people are unsure about shipping and timing.
  16. I cut the mounting rib out of the inside of the tires with a #11 Xacto knife and mount the wheels in the tires "from the wrong side" ........ that is, with the side that has no raised text facing outward .......... then I apply the decal or dry transfer to that smooth side .......... the yellow Goodyear markings on the black and white Lumina are Shabo dry transfers .......... unfortunately Shabo is no longer in business so now I'm stuck with using decals
  17. You mean this beast ........... it was the first of the Kellogg's paint scheme that became Terry's trademark ,,,,,,,,,,,,, however it wasn't Terry's first Kellogg's scheme ......... that was the black & white '93 Lumina
  18. ... Another Judy Lilly car ......... and yes I know it was really a '68 but my model was built with a '69 kit ............ another remembrance of a marvelous lady and competitor ................ and of NHRA drag racing in Divisions 4 & 5 back in the '70's ............ that was such a great time to both watch and compete in those two divisions
