  1. .... tried to come up with something to build from the AMT 1978 Monza kit (supposedly it was a Pro Stock, except it had a blower and injectors ) .......... so I just built it as a Sportsman racer from the Texas Panhandle (the "High Plains") .............. box stock AMT kit, Testors Wimbledon White paint, Slixx decals
  2. ..... didn't turn out that way ............. this little '60's C/D was built from a very warped Hemi-Sphere kit ............ replaced the kit's Chrysler engine with a small block Chevy from an AMT Parts Pack ............ I think I need to have my head examined for trying to build these old, warped kits
  3. Very nice build sir ............. well done
  4. Strikingly beautiful build of a classic vehicle .......... outstanding work ............... don't remember ever seeing Mighty Mouse next to the "Underbird" decal on the nose Anyway, a great build
  5. I don't know Dave, you would have to question an admin about that.
  6. Wow ! Great builds Bruce. You know which one is my favorite
  7. I know it ran at Bristol
  8. The base color of lime green is paint ....... all the darker "splotches" are decals (Three Amigos) ............ it really wasn't too bad to get this car decaled
  9. Wow, that's really sharp ......... who would have ever thought of using a Citation .......... great work

  12. I can no longer post pictures to this site, all I get is an arrow going in a circle and it never quits or gives me an error message. Any help would be appreciated. John
  13. Beautiful build Bruce .......... simply stunning ............. your talents are off the scale
  14. .... the second part of the Drag car challenge was to build an American car ......... so, staying with the "Gasser" theme, I built this replica of K.S. Pittman's 1941 Willys The build is basically a box stock build of the Revell "Big John" kit ...... the only differences are clear windows and a Vertex magneto from Pro Tech ......... the car is painted with Cobracolors Molten Orange Pearl and carries an overspray of Cobracolors Candy Mayan Gold ....... the decals came from Slixx
  15. .... this car was built for a "foreign drag car" challenge on another forum ..... ... In the late '60's and early '70's, Modified Eliminator as a whole, and C/G as a class at Amarillo Dragway were ruled by R.D. Thomas of Pampa, Texas ......... his little '51 Anglia, named the Blister Bug, was powered by a 301 cubic inch Chevrolet engine backed up by a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed and an Olds 10" rear end .......... the high winding little beast would wheelstand in every gear The car was built from a badly warped and broken Revell kit (I haven't seen one yet that wasn't in that condition) ........ the kit's Olds engine and Hydromatic were replaced with a small block Chevrolet and a 4-speed, the kit's horrible tires and wheels were replaced by Comp Resins American Mags and tires from the parts box, and the ridiculous steering wheel was replaced with a standard sized round unit like what was really in the car ........... the Car was finished with Testors paint and Slixx decals
  16. ... since I now work part time for Paychex as a computer operator, I thought it would be fitting to build a copy of the Taurus owned and driven by Brett Bodine ......... box stock Revell/Monogram kit with MCW white lacquer and Slixx decals
