Recently, I found out that Clippinger Chevrolet's sales manager, the late Bob Wingate was really into model cars. Not sure if any of you guys know about him and the custom one-off 1967 FSO Corvette that he owned while working at Clippinger, but I would really love to find more information about his car models. The only thing I have so far is a single page from an old magazine (I think Rod & Custom) showing his amazing collection of dealer promos. Please let me know if you have any other info. Thanks

Oh that's gonna be cool. I'm currently doing a '63 Z06/N03 car. This particular example is the one that was part of the Otis Chandler collection and was one of the last cars he purchased.

So there were 199 Z06s altogether for 1963. Of those 199, 63 of them had the N03 option which had the 36.5 gallon fuel tank. 5 of the 1963 cars were the Grand Sports. Not sure if you're doing a Z06 or an early Grand Sport.

This kit has the right exhaust for the 1966 911. However, the Daytona '69 car is actually a 911L, and the 911R would be a tricky conversion since it has many lightweight features.

I want to do the Corvette as well. I do know for a fact that the Corvette had the N03 option, which was the 36.5 gallon fuel tank. Gerry Chevalier offers a resin conversion for that tank. I have one that I've installed in my '63 Vette SnapTite build.

Yes, the SnapTite was part of the basis for the Historic Racing Miniatures kit. I think that if Revell did a '63 full detail, it would sell like hotcakes.
