    Just finished the Revell Crusader Chopper.....what a great kit to build! Scratchbuilt the handlebars and air intake and also added cables / wires.

    Sure you can use cards for your project if its the right thickness you need, just as many use soda cans as a source for aluminum for making tubs etc. Most cards are really glossy though so prep them with sandpaper from 600 grit and up, prime and paint!

    I bet the paint wasn't cured enough....only 3 days here. Thanks Dave....going to sand and recoat with Testors MM and wait 3 weeks this time to apply the Future.

    Ya, I just tried removing the future with Windex and the web cracks are now in the paint too!!!!!!

    I applied Future to my paint job today with a 1" foam brush and it looked great with a great shine. After a couple hours of drying time, the entire surface is cracked with faint spider web looking cracks. What did I do wrong here?

    Thanks for the replys....I went and picked up some Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner....1 quick spray and a few minutes later no more chrome....Thanks for the help!

    Ok....I'll try one of those. I agree that bleach doesn't get that undercoat off either.....has anyone ever tried to just prime and paint over the chrome? I've never tried it...just wondering how it would come out.

    I's trying to strip the chrome off the wheels and exhaust of a AMT Fast and Furious Eclipse kit I'm working on. I always use Bleach and it always strips the chrome within minutes off the any Revell or Lindberg kit. I left the parts soaking in Bleach for a couple hours and NOTHING!!! Is there a secret to AMT chrome???

    I have read alot of people using Alclad Chrome but what about Alclad Aluminum or Alcad Polished Aluminum for wheels or exhaust OR is a Metalizer a better to use. Any pics would be great too....thanks!

    Built with a Lindberg 1/25 Ford F-150 4x4 kit. Lifted the front end, changed the wheels, added scratchbuilt spare tire carrier in bed and scratchbuilt front tube bumper.
