Also... I finally nabbed the Japanese Supra MKiii kit with the fully detailed engine bay (which comes with the factory 7M engine in it), and picked up the resin 2JZ-GTE engine from model-meister... Now all I need is Mitsubishi Starion wheels (or a close approximation thereof...) and I've got my car in model form!!! Apologies for thread-hyjack... carry on with your awesome Corolla dragster work!!!!! :D

Nah... my plate is a dead-giveaway. But I get lots of people asking me to pull over so they can see it. Thinking about changing that and going into "sleeper mode"...

Well I know the AAR hood is a little too wide than the engine bay, but it is the right length. That's as far as I've gotten.

My cap for a single model is $100, never more than that. But add-ons can cause that number to trickle up pretty quickly, like resin parts, aftermarket decals, special paints, MCG metal emblems, BMF, different wheels/tires, a dedicated spare parts kit (on rare occasion...), etc....

Sorry for the cellphone pix... If this looks like a lot of stealth fighter pieces instead of a car model, you wouldn't be too far from the truth. This is a difficulty 3 build kit which is highly detailed, with multiple panels and parts. The interesting thing though is it comes with no decals, so painting the cockpit intricately becomes a must. Should be a nice challenge!

Frog called him "Bo" at one point in the movie, but his actual name is Bo "Bandit" Darville in the screenplay copy I have. I'll get pix of the tread pattern when I can get my camera charged back up.
