  1. Liquid Decal Film. Coat it, let it sit for 8 hours, good to go.
  2. Whoops! Meant to post some with the decals on it.....
  3. One of my all time favorite futuristic cars. PMed.
  4. That thing is sick... sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick, sick........ Absolutely WOW. I must obtain your modelling skills. That car is showroom quality.
  5. I love Microsol, but you have to watch what you put it down on. Revellogram decals are pretty heavy-duty and can survive it, but AMT/Round 2 and 3rd party decals don't like it at all, like fracture-into-a-million-pieces not like it. For anything but Revellograms, start by coating the entire sheet with Liquid Decal Film to strengthen the decals, then you can use the solvents if you have one that doesn't want to behave, like putting a decal on a round air filter cover.
  6. I did this as a test model for things since I've been away from modelling for a while and just getting back into it. Ironically, I built a General Lee from a Revell '68/'69 Charger a few years ago, and now I've finished building a normal car from the snap-together DOH kit. Weird. I have some decals I may put on the car, but for now this is good. Looks like I need to practice with BMF some more, LOL!
  7. "SPARROW" on the car... Written by hand. Definitely made me nervous.
  8. Thanks! Hood painted and done, waiting for the decals...
  9. http://www.automoblog.net/2009/02/12/coupe-vs-sedan-whats-the-difference/ Sorry, had to leave that link here. Calling a 2-door car a "sedan" and a 4-door a "coupe" cross-wires my thinking everytime.
  10. The Daytona should have a warning sticker on it that states "Watch out for low flying parts"... Because that's what happens when you pick one of these up and chuck it across a room, half-built.
  11. Still doing a little touchup but it's almost complete... And the hood support rails came out pretty cool. I'm touching up the white spots now....
  12. Enhanced pic...
  13. Radiator screen in place... . After some adjustments I made it look more natural fitting, so I'll get pix of that tomorrow. I also finished the hood support rods and am finally painting the hood, so the Ford will be completely assembled by tomorrow as well. And thanks to a member on here, I will have some nice "9" decals (they won't be exact but should look good anyway) as well as a vintage Texaco decal for the rear fender. Once those decals are in place I'll hand paint the "zoom stripes" behind the 9 decal in red and find out from my brother-in-law where his dad had his name on the car. One last detail. If you take a magnifying glass to the original pic you can see writing above the windshield. I initially thought that was where Henry's name would go, but it actually says "SPARROW" on it, hand-painted and everything. I will need to research that to see if it was a nickname he gave his car, and why he did that. It also looks like I'll be using a thin point Sharpie to write his name and anything else on the white roof, as I don't trust my hands to not be shaky with black paint on that white rooftop.
  14. Radiator screen from styrene strips and metal mesh... Stock 0.080 half round styrene rod shaped into support rod for mesh screen Hood supports will be next....
  15. Because my therapist said it would help get rid of the voices inside my head. Now it only tells me to build more model cars rather than going on killing sprees. In all seriousness, I got my love of model cars and real cars from my dad, and he taught me all the things he knew about modelling. So I guess I'd consider mine hereditary.
  16. Thanks all! I I finished this some time ago but forgot to post the final pix for it. I'll get them up here soon. Also, I think Hazzardous Decals is out of business, but I'm sure ebay has some sets still floating around. Used to be you could go right to the website and order them, but now they're scarce. The reason why people used to go to them was because the colors and sizes in the flag and writing were more acurate than anything else available at the time.
  17. Awesome. I'm going to fiddle with it and see if I can use it for some type of hood support, of which I have none. Car fenders are now on the body and are nice and level.... And a shot of the engine bay...
  18. Now, can anyone tell me EXACTLY what this piece is? It came with the kit but the instructions make no mention of what it's for. I believe it supports the hood to the engine bay (which is what I'm using it for, anyway...), but I want to be sure. Thoughts?
  19. Interior completed with rollcage... Good shot with rollcage and dirty interior... Test shots with partially assembled chassis... To me, that front bumper rail looks too low, pretty sure it's due to the jacked up front end. I'll probably end up clipping and relocating the bumper support farther up so it looks more natural. Almost looks like an offroader in that shot.
  20. It reminds me of what Toyota might have in mind with the next Supra... And I find that VERY unsettling. I really, REALLY hope Toyota changes its mind.
  21. Engine mounted in... And seats thoroughly trashed....
  22. Now the chassis doesn't look like it's dug in....
  23. Posterboard background and this: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/9-x-12-black-checkerboard-printed-felt-rectangle-329326/
  24. I picked this up for a new project and it's an awesome resin kit. The drawbacks are it's 1:24 scale and is a single turbo rather than the factory twins, but a nice engine kit nonetheless. http://model-meister.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=45_22_26_29_36&products_id=65
