  1. I grew up around Novas of the late 60's to 80's. Always liked the style of these cars. Nice one!
  2. This is the Round 2 kit which is a copy of the Aoshima kit, the difference being this is a snap-together. The Aoshima has more detailing and better definition of parts, but this is a decent effort overall. Thanks!
  3. Second set... Not much detail underneath to warrant a picture.
  4. This is the Testors/Motor Max metal kit that was a special edition release for the game "Spy Hunter 2". It took about an hour to build and required no paint or glue to complete since it was pretty detailed to begin with.
  5. So I bought the 1959 Cadillac Biarritz Eldorado kit by Monogram several years ago from an LHS that has now since closed, and then immediately put it with my stash and forgot about it. I go and open it yesterday to start work on it, and I finally realize the entire chrome tree is missing. I now have my build on hold until Revell Monogram sends me a replacement tree. Of course, I can't take the kit back to a store no longer in business now, but had I verified the kit the day I first got it, I would have swapped it out then. Check your kits when you get them, not years later!
  6. Thanks guys! The car body comes that way, so you don't have to do anything to it at all. The detailing of everything else helps make it stand out more as well.
  7. Thanks! Car is complete and in Under Glass!
  8. It sits straight, I just took the picture at a bad angle... I shaved the text on the chassis off and painted the undercarriage Gunmetal. I added "Funwire" in different places to act as cable bundles in and around the interior, and added extra hoses in the same. It's not a bad kit, but you do need to be careful how much you press the parts in when assembling. It actually works better to glue some parts together rather than force them into unyielding holes in and around the body, and painting the extra details are a must. I'd love to get my hands on an Aoshima kit and go hog wild with it just to see how detailed I can get, LOL! Enjoy!
  9. Ok. That's just WICKED AWESOME. Love THAT.
  10. Got some more detailing done today... The multicolored wiring you can see wound together is called "Funwire". I happened across it while at Michael's after I bought this kit and figured I could have fun with it. The plastic hoses were another purchase from there, but I don't remember the name.
  11. CAVEAT FOR THOSE BUILDING THIS MODEL.... To install the glass WITHOUT FRACTURING OR SNAPPING TOTALLY, remove the retainer tabs inside the car's body and use white glue or Micro Krystal Klear to mount the glass. Once you get it started, take aligator clips or anything that will clamp on and glue down the glass to the top of the roof, otherwise the interior console won't fit properly. I came dangerously close to snapping the glass apart trying to install it. Chipped a small area on one of the tabs and started a hairline crack on the other side but it's not that noticable. Aligator clips clamping down the glass in back...
  12. Thanks all! Flux Capacitor.... Window trim... Added electrical bundles...
  13. LOL! Thanks everyone! Ok, more detail added. I'm building the Delorean at the beginning of the first movie. This means no arrestor hook or Mr. Fusion.... Still touching up some areas.
  14. Ok... to eliminate all the confusion here..... I am looking for THIS CAR in model scale... The car on "Once Upon A Time".... a Zimmer Golden Spirit Coupe... Now, all the confusion stems from what Wikipedia and the CW website says about the car from "101 Dalmations". They keep trying to ID the car as the "Panther De Ville", which is the WRONG CAR for the TV series. That car was used in the MOVIE "101 Dalmations", driven by Glenn Close, and bears a resemblance to a Bugatti. So... Panther De Ville aka Bugatti aka Excalibur = BAD. Zimmer Golden Spirit Coupe = GOOD. Thanks all for the assist on this. Looks like I will need to customize something if I intend to build this car....
  15. Race you... From the same 350H kit. Like minds think alike, and your racer is awesome!!!!!
  16. Yayyy!!! Grandad's driving us to town again!!!! BEAUTIFUL wagon!
  17. So I says to myself, I says... "Self... you've had some pretty intense builds recently with Christine, and Gremmy, and Phantom, and all. Why don't you build some easy snap together kit?" And so I picked this one... So naturally, when I get a nice physically detailed kit like this I want to highlight all the nifty sci-fi parts to make it look more "real", and that means painting all the wiring, electronics, bracket pieces, etc,.. so they stand out from the model. Which is why my hand is cramped now... Secondly, whomever the person is at Round 2 that thought this was a simple "snap together" kit has a really sadistic streak in his body. So far NONE of the tabs want to snap into the body (of course, the parts are PAINTED...), so I have actually resorted to snipping off one or two tabs and glued the pieces together for a proper fit. This holds especially true of the flux ribbon around the sides of the car that connect above and below. I had to attach the ribbons to the sides first, THEN snip the tabs on the upper and lower pieces and glue them directly to the ribbon end tabs to even get them to fit together like they're supposed to... AND THIS IS JUST THE FIRST DAY WITH THIS KIT! At least it looks nice when it goes together... IF it goes together....
  18. This is the Round 2 kit with the nicer looking brushed aluminum body...
  19. Now all it needs is a "For Sale" sign and a shady character with a bulldog sitting next to him! Excellent work!
  20. X2. Exactly what I would've said. Mopars rock.
  21. Awesome deep color!
  22. In real life it was a '58, but in the movie they called it a '57. Of course SK wrote that it was a special order custom model ordered in that color, otherwise it would have been Buckskin Beige. Thanks all!
  23. LOL! The responses to this are a riot! Yup, I don't need the crappy first car, I'm looking for the crappy second car, so it looks like I'll be looking for a lost cause Zimmer. Ohh well, at least I can let them know what it is, LOL! Thanks guys, especially Ace!
