  1. I just got my hudson kit! An aquintince I know has a 49 so with a lil bit of scratchbuilding I hope to build this I'm sure someone will chime in on how they are totally different but it is a good base to start from I think
  2. My brother in law gave me a stack of old car mags today, I never realized how big modeling was back then, some of the issues are half on models and half on 1/1s.
  3. I love alot of hard core punk rock but I love me some old country too,add some Hank Sr. George Jones, Buck Owens ....etc
  4. Does any one know where I can find these hubcaps,I have done a few google searches but came up empty handed, I have a few projects that need em. Any help would be great! http://www.mooneyesusa.com/sto/images/starburst15inch.jpg
  5. Atleast it was clear tape and not duct tape......I guess.
  6. You are pretty close to what I was talking about add some black flag, crucifix, crass, econochrist, minor threat, propagahndi, doom, resist, defiance etc etc.....
  7. I usually put on some of my punk records, or some old country, I know its the opposite end of the spectrum but it works for me
  8. Go get a good striping brush and trim it down, you don't have to cut the whole thing down just give it a good shape with a sharp end, you have to trim all pinstriping brushes anyways just give it a super sharp point. I have used my mack 00 for doing some fine lines. You just need a light steady hand.
  9. I do pinstriping and I use gold and silver leaf for that, but it is really tough to use on a model, you have to lay the size (glue) let it tack up for a certain time, not to long but not too soon, bmf is just much much easier
  10. Im no expert on pe (the only pe I have used was from the revell midget) but I used supeglue on the tip of a toothpick, and to cut it off of the tree I put a piece of tape on the back side (to keep it from flying away) and just used a number 11 exacto blade and cut it off. hope that helps.
  11. Since I have started using bmf, I wouldn't go back to paint. It just looks so much better.
  12. before I opened up the kit I was thinkin it was kinda heavy, I thought it was odd when I opened the kit to see all that extra paper.
  13. Revell's 56 f-100, the cab was so warped that I almost gave up, but it was the Ed roth version so I had to finish it, the decals gave me a bit if a fight too.
  14. The only kit I would love to see is a 65 or 66 ford f-100, no step side an long bed would be cool but a swb would be cool.
  15. That, sir is the bee's knee's!!!!!!
  16. Nice!
  17. That is a excellent point; the bartender is going to server the barfly before the tourist because the barfly will be back tomorrow and the day after and the day after.... so they know they have a steady market for older cars because they have sold well for so many years and they figure they don't want to lose the core builders so they put out more new or re issues of subjects they know will sell for sure. I'am very happy with the amount of new kits coming out, now if they would put out the tweedy pie like they said they were. Does anyone know what happened to that?
  18. I suppose I'm a younger modeler, being 28 and all, but all of the cars I like to build came out way before I was born and I'm real happy they are releasing the olds and other non gm products. So I hope they keep releasing new hot rods and customs because I will keep buying them.
  19. ambition, and will to improve.
  20. I tend to get in a rush towards the end of a model because I just want to see it done and of course I will get glue on the paint or mess up a decal. So all the work I did to make a good paint job goes down the toilet.
  21. I just took a drill bit and twisted it in by hand and had no problem, I wouldn't dream of taking anything with a motor anywhere near that kit, so many fragile parts.
  22. I also drilled them out with a slightly larger bit and they went in snug, It took me a while to figure it out because the first one I put on went in just fine.
  23. Thanks for the number Gregg, I found a different one on the innerwebb, I will call him on my lunch break to find out how to order from him
