..haven't been able to spend much time on the garage but did get started on some detail parts. This is going to be the overhead heater. I found a reference pic of an old Reznor gas heater. It's suppose to be from the 30's. Unfortunately I accidental deleted the pic and can't find it again. So I'm going of what I remembered of it. ....it's going to get a fan, control valve and vent pipe to finish it off......more to come as time permits..lol

.....I'm trying Mold Max for the first time. Been using OOMOO for awhile now and as you guys know it's a 1:1 mix ratio. Mold Max says 100:10 or 10:1. I know I need a scale, what kind do you guys use or suggest I get? Thanks fellas......

...I totally agree that Michigan is a beautiful state and it will always be home, but the winters are starting to get to me. As I get older, the gray gloominess, and cold just last too long. I know we'll never leave, too many ties here, family, friends and so on. Leaving is basically wishful thinking, deep down I know I would miss it here. Just wish the winters were only 2 months instead of what seems like 8!!

....Michelle, you were just a stones throw away from me a few months ago. We moved to Monroe from Petersburg back in March. Know what you mean about finding your way out of here, been trying for years!!..lol

...I'd love to come but will have to make it next time. Going to be out of town for the weekend. I look forward to meeting with you guys though, and plans willing it'll be next month!

...the colors sounds like a good plan, maybe you could incorporate the 40 Fords building next to this one and have Fords sitting all around both buildings.

....WOW, that looks fantastic Doug! You've got a lot of nice detail in this. ....I've love these kinds of dio's. Every time I see an abandoned car sitting in a field or next to a barn, I always wonder about the history of the car. Who first bought it, where has it been, why did it end up here.

..thanks Jim and Mike! I'm having a blast with this dio and learning a lot as I go along. This will probably be an on going project for a long time. I'd like to really detail the heck out of it. Try some new things like electrical outlets and conduit, some air lines and hoses, plus all the little stuff, boxes, oil cans, tools and etc.

....using photos as back drops gives a small scene a lot of depth. The angle on the second shot is perfect! Nice work!

...thanks fellas! ...this project got started after I saw 'philbass's' tutorial on his foam board brick work. Never really considered foam board as a dio material before. But after seeing what he did I had to give it a try.

...then individual bricks done with random colors.... ...plaster of Paris used as mortar.... ..then a alcohol/India ink wash to finish it off....

..here's a scrap piece foam board that I scribed...... and here's a couple pics of the painting process.... ...this was a section that turned out too dark so I did it over, first it's primed in white. (all paints are acrylic) ....then the first coat of color.... ...then the second, shown with just the top half done.....
