...I think 57' Chevy is it. I have a partial kit that I got in a trade and sure enough this is what I found.....the back sides are a bit different but other then that their the same. ..thanks for all the help guys...I knew I came to the right place!

...I apologize guys, completely slipped my mind...it was chrome. I threw it in with a bunch of other parts I was de-chroming awhile back. I'm trying my hand at casting some older wheels and rims. If it's a model specific item it would be good to know, but I guess I can call it "deep dish steel wheel" if anything......
-
..it had a narrow tube with a hole for a metal axle but I removed that to cast it....
-
...thanks fellas, I appreciate the info. If I'm not mistaken this wheel has been in my stash box since the late 60's so I have no idea what it belongs to. It looks like for now it's going to be called "deep dish steel wheel"...thanks again guys.....

Found this wheel in my stash and like the fact it's a deep steel wheel but have no idea where it came from. Any ideas on make or model it belongs to?

....thanks Brian, I really appreciate the info!....that's something I was not aware of. I will definitely look into this.....thanks again!

Hi fellas,....need a little help, been working with clear resin for the past couple days and not having much luck. ...this is what I've tried so far. Working with Alumilite Clear. I have a silicone mold of a spare windshield from the parts box. It's highly recommended from Alumilite to preheat the mold if it's less then a 1/4" thick, so that's what I do. 15 minutes at 150 degrees in a convection oven. I use a gram scale to measure out the resins by weight(also recommended)and mix in a separate container. After pouring the resin in the mold, it's put in a pressure pot, after that it's post cured in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes at 150 degrees. The post cure is recommended to eliminate brittleness. I have varied the pressure pot times from 45 minutes to 6 hours. The first time I pulled the mold from the pot after 45 minutes tiny little bubble started to form around the edges of the mold. Obviously it must not have been completely set up. Even though Alumilite states it has a 45 to 90 minute demold time, every cast after that one was at least 4 hours, up to 6 hours. Here's the last 3 results using the above method...... ....not real sure what I'm doing wrong or what conditions I have that are causing the distortions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!...thanks guys...

WOW!...love it! amazing amout of detail, you didn't miss a thing here. Got a special fondness for the Reznor heater, beautiful job on that and everything else!

..thanks fellas, appreciate the encouragement and support! ...well it was a beautiful overcast, cold, rainy day today!, perfect for modeling. Along with resin and mold work I designated some time for the dio. Got the end walls lined up and reattached. The brick work missing in the corner is minimal. Going to try Howard's patch work on this, if it turns out good I'll some to other places too. The window mullions are back in place and most of the piping is straighted out and reconnected. I made a small modification to the gas line for the heaters new corner location also. ....hope to make steady progress on her......stay tuned!........thanks for looking in....

….decided to get a closer look at things today. All and all it held up fairly well. Amazingly nothing actually broke. Everything just came apart. Still have all the joists, beams and related materials. The joists with the lights and conduit is a jumbled up mess though. I have to completely redo the wiring. I do have a couple of bent conduit but should be able to straighten those up. For grins and giggles I plugged in the lights and all but one works!, that’s cool. The only piece I couldn’t find was the gas valve for the heater. The only real damage is at the left rear corner. That was the impact point and where the wall is completely separated. It does look like it’ll go back in place. I do have some missing brick work at the top so that’ll have to be repaired. The plaster floor held up good also. There’s a small chip near the right front and the very left front corner is broke. Considering the fall it took I really lucked out here. Except for the wall section this should basically be a reassembly project. I’m actually looking forward to working on it. Kinda like waking up in the morning and finding a tree down in the back yard, ya can’t wait to get the chain saw fired up!

..thanks fellas, I know all you guys can appreciate the time and effort that goes into these kind of builds, so I'm grateful for all the encouragement and support. I'll post a damage report once I get into it again!
-
..congrats Barbo! that's fantastic, keep us posted.....
-
..thanks Steve for the kind words and I'm glad your inspired to build! Those jack stands you saw are from the Fujimi kit. After seeing them in pictures I just don't like em. That's why I went with the wood blocks. But if you come up with a set of old ones I'd be grateful for a "how to".

..thanks Randy and Brad......actually things held up quite well. Only a couple items broke, most just came apart. It looks like it'll be pretty much a sort and reassemble project. The only real bad thing to happen was the wall separation in the one corner. I need to clear everything out and give it a good look over. One of the things I wasn't really happy with was the heater placement. I got ahead of myself on that. It needs to go in the corner of the building, where most are put in real ones. I will reroute the piping for that. I also want to change the electrical box locations for the lights. I had the main runs coming from the back wall. I want to run them to the left side wall to a main electrical panel. That's really about it for changes, not that it was a big deal but now I have the chance to make them! ....sounds good Brad on the light shades, in fact I'm making more today, sold out of what I had at the show.....just let me know when your ready...
-
...well disaster stuck yesterday morning. I guess I can joke about this because I'm still in shock.....As I was walking in the door to the show with my dio a fella wanted to check my vendor badge. The badge was hanging pretty low around my next from a cord. I had loosely wrapped the dio in plastic because of the threat of rain. Instead of setting the dio down I lifted it up and that's when the dio slid in the plastic! It happened so fast I just stood there in total disbelief as it crashed to the floor. The plastic did manage to contain all but a couple of pieces. This is what it looked like when I removed it plastic covering..... ....it's repairable but I do have my work cut out for me. I am trying to keep a positive outlook on the experience. I even thought I should have stuck the 41' in there and entered it as a tornado victim.......at least now I can fix a couple things that weren't quite right and can post a bunch of reconstruction pics....... ...except for this I did have a good day. I met a lot of great people at the show and sold quite a few parts too.
-
..thanks Tony and Mike! Appreciate all you fellas taking the time post your comments, helps me to keep after it! Well this is basically how I'll have it for the show. Maybe a couple more little items will get added......definitely will have more stuff for the next show.
-
..great job Sam, nicely done! I especially like the brick work and green colored trim.......
-
....got started on the Reznor heater. Hope to have the gas line, regulator and vent done by Sunday......
-
...a couple more....the old bath room..... ..this is about as far as I'm going with the upper floor till I figure out what I want to do with it...... ...thanks for looking and the kind words!!
