A great adhesive for windows is Future and/or any acrylic clear. I just don't believe in the tube glues anymore,and use Various CA glues,30 minute epoxy(no more 5 minute stuff) and either Tenax or Plastruct for liquid glues.

An easy to make jig could be made from a block of wood or maybe something harder. Drill a hole that the tubing can slip into and hold it snug.File a goove(use the round file for the fishmouth size) across the block intersecting the hole. Now slide the tubing into the block and use that groove to guide the file across the tube. Sorry I don't have one of those drawing programs to illustrate this better.

I have a bag of those thin tubes that are usually taped to the side of something like carb cleaner and Wd_40. I drill out a spare tip and epoxy the tube into the hole and after it dries it's good to go. Another way is to degas the can(I use a c-clamp that ratchets) and clamp down on the tip while the can is upside down and the hang the thing on a wire,letting all the gas out. Then I rip the top off with a large pair of side cutters.

I've seen them only a very few times and they go for very high prices,usually beyond what I want to pay. I did latch onto a built -up(very well done BTW) maybe a year ago and paid only 125.00. I felt that was a good deal. I don't know if Andy built this or someone assembled the kit themselves. You could look at Island Collectibles site as they have a few resin birdcage model kits listed by other makers.

There are "notchers" in the 1:1 world of tube chassis and other areas of metal working. Maybe studying that tool,a smaller ( 1/8th--1/16th) scale could be made would work. Failing that, Daves mention of a small round file is the usual method.Does everyone use tubing though? I made some repairs to a warped 1/16th fueler chassis and used round rod.

You can't blame tube glue for this,it's who and how it was used(or mis used ) I don't usually care what people use to build their models,but personally I don't use tube glue in this day an age.

It depends on how many models you strip with it. Also,routinely strain the stuff from one container to another and get the big and little bits of gunk out of there,they are weakening the strippers power. I tend to keep my drum (5-gallon bucket) where it is warm.PP and super clean work better warm.

Testor's enamels are junk from the spray can,but perform beautifully when thinned properly an applied with an airbrush. Although I favor different thinning chemicals than Donn,I'm pleased that his videos were able to get this info out.

I've started on a 1/18th die cast "66 Chevy II SS. It was an L-79 optioned car with 4-speed. It was a dark green metallic with a metallic looking light green interior.

I eventually contacted Ed. There is also info on his casting over at the TRAK forum. It appears he will be casting in a very limited form.

Here's aloooonnnggg shot. Sanding "dust" from some kit sprues mixed with epoxy or super glue. Put tape over the holes from the outside and apply a tiny amount of the "putty" to the holes. let cure and remove tape. You still may have to sand,buff and polish the plastic. Have you considered a clear coat overall?

My go to stripper is Super Clean. If that fails I use Dawn Power Dissolver. If I know it's a an water based acrylic I use ammonia. Tamiya lacquer strips with 90%+ alcohol. I have safely used Super Clean on resin for years.

Lacquer thinner will strip resin,but don't soak it. If you can't source Purple power or super clean try Dawn power dissolver. It's made by Procter&Gamble and they are a multi-national so it might be available.

Hhmmm? I have doubles of all the earlier issues. I wonder if a 1/16th "Ala Kart" could be bashed with a lot of work. Is a '29 that different from a '31?
