  1. My condolences go out to you.My German shepherd died last July at 11Y.O.Both I and my remaining Shep Tori miss him.
  2. "I have to decant my Duplicolor clear, as my arthritic hands make cans any larger than a Tamiya/Testors size difficult to hold and spray." Get one of the many holders that snap on top of a can, large or small and make it like a spray gun. I've been doing that with 12OZ. cans of primer and it works great.
  3. Again, the subject of molding and casting is vast.Even if you won't shop the internet,at least look at you tube for the videos about this. There is much to be learned and these will give you plenty of inspiration.
  4. A very good way to do a two piece mold for a tire was in a short lived magazine called IN SCALE. It was only out for two issues. (Very) simplistically you brush on some RTV on one side of the master and let cure,This way the RTV can gas out and let any bubbles pop. You then secure the master in to a vessel with this side down and pin it suspended in the vessel(a butter tub was shown in the article) you can then pour RTV into the tub and fill to the halfway point of the tire, let cure and then apply mold release to the cured rubber/master and finish the pour. Hope this is clear and I'll try and post this article if I can.
  5. I also just ran across a pic of the Lawman Car as a '63 Dodge!
  6. You could build all the Lawman cars. Cady decals, '63 Johan Plymouth, '64 Lindberg Plymouth for the max wedge early cars and a Flintstone Belvidere resin sedan gets you close to a hemi lightweight. Shave off the Belvidere trim and you have a Savoy.
  7. I think it's very well done. A black wash to the grill would help, try using Tamiya Smoke in their acrylics.
  8. One paint you might try is Testor's rubber. It's in the small 1/4 oz bottle. Over the years I have seen many tires that were painted and most were done with shades of grays.
  9. I used it a long time ago,but the high price eventually put me off. I switched to simple green, then super clean and now use Dawn power dissolver/and or super clean.
  10. ".thinking of switching to enamels for my next project..." You might want to search the forum about dehydrators then.
  11. I don't think I've ever seen just a frame for a razor saw. I have razor saws from Excel & Zona and I was able to remove them from the frame to use, but the frame I've never seen. Maybe you mean jeweler's saws?
  12. I did those using strip styrene,CA glue and 30 minute epoxy thickened with micro-balloons. Open up the wheelwell the thickness of the strip your using, form it to conform to the well and glue it in tight. You can make it overly large and then shape it later.I then mixed up some epoxy and microballons and flowed that onto the strip.Prop the body up and let the mixture drip down onto some cardboard or paper and let it cure for a good 24 hours. Then shape and sand. It was a lot easier than the putty method.
  13. Why did you paint a chrome grill.and now want to remove the paint?
  14. PPG DCA 468 Hi- performance clear usually thinned with PPG DTL105 Lacquer thinner. Been using it for 10 years or so.
  15. They are probably/possibly operating out of a house. My brother and I spent the better part of a day checking out several hobby shops listed online with addresses. Many were someone s home. Did you call them? And why aren't you casting something
  16. There is one on ebay $1111.11
  17. Yes, He got back to me and that is essentially what he confirmed. Your right,he does have some nice stuff.
  18. If there is a search function at the site, type in metallics and see what comes up.
  19. "that's a pretty darn good finish for a kit almost universally loathed.... which gets me to thinking about perception and reality." ME TOO!!
  20. Very nicely done. great masking and paint work.
  21. Yeah I'm kinda dissappointed ... I was thinking of putting some sealed kits on there for $5.00!
  22. Not only that, but they emphasize they are an online store.
  23. If I received this I would contact Paypal before anything else. This could be just human error,or easily resolved. I didn't receive this letter either, but most of my transactions have been purchasing at 100% feedback.
  24. I sent him an e-mail. We'll see.
