Brutalform

Two things are evident in these pics. First off, I stink at BMF!! Actually this is my first ever BMF job, so its not too horrifying. And second, it might be hard to tell, but, the BMF left some goo on the roof top. I tried a dab of GOO Gone with a Q Tip, but it did not really help. Any ideas to a noob??? Thanks much.

Yea Mike I agree 100%. After I get some of the junk cut away, it will go down more, and not look too bad ...I hope. It is a 737 Thumper Gibson engine, so it being a bit large is ok I guess. Now, if it were a SBC, then I think it would look silly sitting in there. Thanks Kyle. Didn't Steve Carrier own that yellow Camaro? Its been a while since I watched NMCA cars. I just remember that awesome 55 Rick drove, and wrecked while racing Annette Summer. I think it will be a fun build.

Yes its the 737 Thumper. The pic you posted is exactly what I planned on doing. The front part of the chassis is a 55 chevy, correct? My 55 chassis is the AMT, and it has a single exhaust pipe cast right in the length of the frame. If you get this stuff worked out, I will surely take a few.

Just tossing this one around. Back in the 90s, NMCAs Rick Dyer drove a 7 second 55 Chevy (C.A.R.S) that was blue and white. I got an idea to build something very similar in color and mods respectfully. Fellow MCM member Matt is fabricating some wheelie bars, wheel tubs, etc, that he will sell for about 15.00. I hope he gets it all figured out, as I am constantly looking online for what he is making. I will be buying about 2 or 3 sets from him. I am currently awaiting some deep race rim resins from M.A.D, and tires from Alan at Mas Resins. Also looking for a 55 Chevy scooped hood, as I have to cover a large Gibson Engine. Would like to install a chute, and aluminum air wing on the rear deck. Probably will go with all aluminum underhood, since I will be cutting alot away for the engine. This is just a few mock up pics, mostly to see what the stance will be, and to get that engine down where it belongs. Is it just me, or are the Gibson Engines TOO BIG???

When you do get it done...count me in for one, errr maybe two, or three. I spent hours surfing the net looking for something like what you are making. Your design will find its way under my pro street 55 Chevy. These are just quick mock up pics. Waiting for some "real" tires and rims in the mail. This is pretty much the right stance though. Got alot of work to make the HUGE Gibson engine fit in nicely.

I just bout an Xacto knife, spare #11 blades, about 6 cans of spray paint, assorted bottle paint, plastic cement, Sharpie paint pens, emery boards, brushes, BMF,...and oh yea, six muscle car models. I am driving out to meet Ed at Drag City Castings tomorrow morning for some spare wheels and other resins. Awaiting on some engine, and interior detailing stuff in the mail now. Currently got a 62 SD 421 Catalina, and a 62 409 build going on now. Emery board can be found at the Dollar Store, and last night I stripped the wires out of some old phone jack cords. Its the right diameter for ignition boxes, plug wires, etc...and it was free. Got many colors of wire too, but i am using the white and red for now.

From one newbie to another...WELCOME!! I've been away from models for 15 years or so. I sold my drag car a few years ago, and now I got the itch again, only this one will not break the bank.

Thank you for all the welcomes!!! I took two fairly decent pics of the Poncho. Its currently on hold until the interior etching comes in. I would also like to get 4 new outer rims. Looks like someone just twisted these off. It was a used Ebay kit..BTW. I painted them, but they just will not cut it. Just started my AMT 62 Bel Air 409 today.

Hi Everyone...new member here. Well I must admit, that I am blown away at some of the builders works on these boards. I really enjoyed the 62 Catalina buildup that Marcos performed, and the 62 Impala by Len & Bill. I really enjoy the early 60s era muscle car builds the most. I have not built a model in 15+ years...and I am currently getting some tools and supplies together. So far I an building the same Catalina that Marcos has. The last time I built the car models, there were no air brushes, and foiling, as far as I remember...maybe there was, but, due to not having the internet I did not know. This build is on "hold" right now, as I am awaiting some detail parts in the mail...(etching, foil etc.) I would like to begin the 62 409, but would like to get some nicer, larger tires and slicks for it, as the stock tires are too small. I recently bought Hubert Platts T-bolt, Pettys 64 Belvedere, a 62 Bel Air 409, and Don Nicholsons 61 Impala, and 64 Ford Galaxie 500 XL (Pro Shop). I really would like to post some pics of the Pontiac, but my camera is terrible at photographing detail. If I can borrow a quality camera, I will post some pics of the Poncho. This is a really cool site here, and have been looking in on it alot since I joined a few days ago. Already got some great links on here for parts. well basically I just wanted to introduce myself, and get involved in the model community at MCM. Thanks.

I looked at that link you provided, and I cant seem to purchase any slicks from that site. Looks like a photo sharing site.
