  1. Trying to plan the engine now, my original idea of stealing the tunnel ram from a old AMT kit doesn't look like it is going to pan out
  2. Got some work done today, started by mocking up the front axle from the 53 Chevy sedan delivery kit. I swear I spent 30 minutes just cleaning that part up, I should have probably looked for something else. But it works.. I also cut out the area in the rear wheel well that is hitting the slicks. while I was at it I opened that rear wheel opening just a bit too. Really starting to like the stance
  3. This is awesome
  4. Well this is pretty awesome
  5. So the more I look at it, the more I think the front wheels are too big. Like 1/24 too big... Thoughts?
  6. Man this one is a beauty!
  7. Yeah, sometimes starting over is easier than trying to fix what you started. Look is like this was one of those times. I really like the lines of this one.
  8. could be wrong but I think hemi cudas had danas no?
  9. I have a Sherline
  10. well this is super cool!
  11. What's funny is I had two ideas for the plate, in the end the one I ended up with just looked better to me.
  12. Awesome collection, very diverse too! I think my favorite is that Impalla. The Duda is really nice too!
  13. Nice work, I can start that many builds in a year, but finishing is another story.
  14. For the rear I grabbed the rear slicks from the round2 reissue of the Jawbreaker dragster, a set of modelhaus steel wheels and some parts box wheel backs. I think they are AMT NASCAR wheel backs. I got lucky and they all work well with the stock axle and drums. I will just have to move the spring perches. A little trimming and I should be good last mockup for the night
  15. For some reason I always seem to start with the wheels and tires, and go from there. Found this stuff in my parts bins and got to work on the fronts. Trimmed out the center rib to fit the wheels in (IIRC these are the old MRC keystones) works well because I only had two, and they were different widths. Although the same on the front side. Had to address the depth issue now Few minutes on the lathe and I was good to go
  16. Building this one for the Ohio challenge at the Buckeye classic this coming March. I ran through a ton of ideas and options and decided on this for my "inspiration" quick mock-up and we are in business
  17. I used tamiya clear yellow. Thinned with lacquer thinner and airbrushed. thanks for all the positive feedback everyone!
  18. Got this one finished up last night, chopped the top, various weathering, bomber style seats and more. You can see the build here if you like. thanks for looking!
  19. I say anything that inspires you to finish something is good with me!
  20. Thanks everyone! james, you might have hinted toward the plate idea I have...
  21. spray the black base, coat with enamel clear. After the clear flashes spray your alclad. then before it was fully dry I used the texture from a rubber glove to imprint the clear base.
  22. Just need to make some plates, and it will be under glass
  23. Got the interior done, photoetched window cranks, and turned a shift knob. also thanks to Eric, I got a front bumper cleaned up, painted and installed. Went with an idea and was able to pull off the pitted chrome look. also dug some headlight lenses out of the parts bin and got those put on too.
  24. I'm in, I have a couple builds planned... Let me finalize my thoughts.
  25. Wow... This is amazing. Makes me want to leave my 69 in the box cause there is no way I could get to this level..
