I've been getting really lucky on this one, I'm sure I'll pay for it by saying this. But some builds fight me start to finish, this one I've been pretty lucky and things are just falling into place. Tackled the ladder bars tonight, first I started with the rear bars from the new 29 roadster kit then made a crossmember from coated wire. a little trimming and I'm in business, I might add some more bracing to the bars, I'll play with it a bit tomorrow.

Could really mess with our heads and incorporate more cuda styling cues in the front, hat center grille bar really starts leaning that way. this kind of reminds me of that car that recently wa built in 1:1, it had inspiration from many pony cars. It's name escapes me at the moment though..

Oh man, this is about to get good... Well better it was already good

Today I moved onto the rear suspentuon. I cleaned up the axle tubes to remove the leaf spring pads, then built a crossmember at the rear and moved the leaf springs inward a bit to make room for those big tires. while that was setting up I moved up front to the inner fender wells. Those need to go. tons of room for headers now!

Something I forgot to mention yesterday. The beauty of the Internet is the ability to not post all the stuff I screwed up before I finally had something presentable. I have a big pile of "scrap" from things I flung across the shop. Either from the lathe, or my hands. hA!

Trying to plan the engine now, my original idea of stealing the tunnel ram from a old AMT kit doesn't look like it is going to pan out

Got some work done today, started by mocking up the front axle from the 53 Chevy sedan delivery kit. I swear I spent 30 minutes just cleaning that part up, I should have probably looked for something else. But it works.. I also cut out the area in the rear wheel well that is hitting the slicks. while I was at it I opened that rear wheel opening just a bit too. Really starting to like the stance

Well this is pretty awesome

So the more I look at it, the more I think the front wheels are too big. Like 1/24 too big... Thoughts?
