  1. The body came from Scalemodelling by Chris - http://www.scalemodelingbychris.com/ It was very well cast and required little prep. I bought from the original purchaser and it had some slight warpage that may have been caused by poor storage but I was able to easily correct that by running under hot water. The interior fitted in easliy and it comes with a chopped whindshield frame and some clear acetate for the windows. I would definately buy more forom SM by C based on my experience with this one Chris (not related to SMbyC)
  2. Thanks for all the kind words folks Chris
  3. Hi all I just finished this one Revell 32 Tudor, chopped resin body, 32 Highboy Halibrands and the stock grille shell, firewall and hairpins from a Stacey David 32. Paint is Tetsors One Coat Lime Ice for the exterior and White Lightning for a pearl-look interior I removed the rear airbags for an earlier look and substituted Replicas & Miniatures finned drums and early Ford backing plates for the discs I went for the all paint look that I saw on a car on the internet Chris
  4. The original type headers with the belled ends are included for those who want the earlier look . They are 8 individual pipes but I liked the look of these Chris
  5. Thought I would share with you my first build of the Slingster. I say my first because I will be buying more of these when they are finally on the shelves. This is an advanced copy sent to me for my magazine column here in Oz. I thoroughly enjoyed building this kit. As you can see, it is almost a direct scaled down version of the old Sizzler kit. Also evident is that the Sizzler kit was nowhere near 1/24th scale if the Slingster is 1/25th. I have included a couple of shots of it with the Ramchargers rail and the Winged express and it looks OK to me. My only hassle was that the decal sheet, while excellent in quality, was too big for the model. It is almost as if it has been scaled to suit the Sizzler body. I have let Revell know so hopefully they will address that Leftover parts include a set of wire wheels (no tires, injected small block chev short block dragster body panels etc Chris
  6. Thanks all I'll email soon Ed Chris
  7. Anyone know the status of Drag City Casting? their website has disappeared pending renewal of the domain name Chris
  8. Try these guys They are located in South Australia Great quality resin. Greta people They are at most major model shows http://www.thepartsbox.com/ Chris
  9. Hi Tim I have a strong recollection of a test shot of a 34 Chev coupe that appeared in SAE (yes .............when it had an E)- but after reading some of the posts here, maybe it was a the 48 coupe version and my memory is just foggy Chris
  10. Here's my SD I loved building this kit The care taken in positioning the gates on the chrome parts to minimise the impact of them on the finished model and the detail of the parts makes it a winner in my book I have an Aero on the shelf just waiting. I have been hoping that Galaxie can raise the money to complete the 34 Chev project that I understand has stalled. Chris
  11. Hi Try these guys http://www.thepartsbox.com/ They are a small home based resin business here in Australia and I can vouch for them and the quality of their product. They sell internationally Jason is a very talented modeller and Michele is the business woman - or something like that Anyway, have a browse through their inventory - there's even a currency converter link on the site Chris
  12. Anyone got any info on the changes to the Custom City 30 Touring from the last release. From the box art it just looks like wheels/tires from the the Monogram 32 Roadster? (yellow version), new headlights and a new instrument panel and steering wheel Chris

  18. I need the AMT 3 W from the 70's. It was not a very accurate model and was only around for a short time. As far as I know it was only ever released once. IRRC the box art car was blue Chris
  19. Hi all I need a couple of clear photos of the box tops of the old AMT 3 Window Coupe and the Aurora 1934 Ford 5 Window Double kit. I write a monthly article for a Street Rodding magazine over here in Australia and would like these photos for an article I am doing on the 75th anniversary of the 34 Ford. Fortunately I have the models but the boxes are now long gone so I don't have any box art photos of the above kits. If you can help please e-mail the photos to me at dansie@powerup.com.au Thanks in advance Chris
  20. Can somebody stop Tim!!!!!!!! I'm starting to dribble on my keyboard This is a MULTIPLE purchase kit for me chris
  21. Tom The AMT 40 Ford kits had nerf bars but they are curved and may not suit The early versions of the 30 Model A kits - the 30 Phaeton had an excellent full width early style nerf bar - hard to find though. I have a used one that has yellowed chrome and a few glue marks - you are welcome to that if it would help but it would have to be re-plated or alcladded Also, have you considered cutting out some of the tubing from the custom tube grille from an early AMT customizing kit Chris
  22. Great work Tommy I am still working on my weathering skills but you have nailed them Chris
  23. Hey Fletch All that truck needs is a good rub back and repaint Really nice job Oh and by the way - I did notice the hinged screen ............................straight after Dennis pointed it out! Chris

    32 Highboy

Here's one that's been bugging me for ages. You know how it goes - get started - hit a wall - put aside - start again - put aside and so on. I decided last month to finish it so here it is. I combined an AMT Phantom Vicky and a Revell 32 Roadster with a few pieces from aftermarket suppliers and my parts box. Paint is Testors Ruby Red Metalflake. Chris
