  1. Building them as the kit builds per the client. It really is not as difficult or as time consuming as you might imagine.
  2. 1982 LeMans winner. Starter resin kit. Automotive (Mazda) paint for the base white.
  3. LeMans winner 1989. Another older resin Starter kit (from 1989). Tamiya Mica Silver with a sealer coat of Tamiya Clear.
  4. The black is all decal, granted, with a little touch up. The white decals are double printed for opacity. Great, except when they are printed out of registration. The craggy edge was too much to let slide on the 1984 car… …so I hand brush painted a little cleaner edge to fix it.
  5. Very clean job on a unique subject.
  6. They are just "big square boots". Luxury of lattitude in fictional customs for fun. Needed more yellow accenting...
  7. It must have gone by the wayside as it is several years old. But here you go: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59733
  8. As requested. Built several years ago for a common kit contest using the Revell Lightning. The engine was modified into a DOHC using Ferrari cam covers. Just a fun guilt-free build.
  9. That giant ruler is a Photoshop picture Steve Boutte made for me. There is no real "big ruler" counterpart. Maybe this will help clear things up:
  10. LeMans winners from 1984 and 1985. Older Starter resin kits. Tamiya Yellow over white. This will be the 1984 car.
  11. TS-44 Brilliant Blue is NOT a metallic. Here are a couple models with it as the main color:
  12. The color is a mix of Mazda Pearl Black, (thank you Mark Taylor), two Humbrol pearl clears and a few drops of violet pearl.
  13. That is the first time, but the facial hair does hide a scar...
  14. I am not going to open the louvers, if they are lucky they will get black paint... I textured the wheel centers for a cast look and went with a white-silver for the color. I also machined a set of center lock nuts and stems.
  15. Now that is a great idea Rob, too bad I already decided to take the easy way out and go curbside...
  16. Is it really appropriate to be posting nude figures here?
  17. This started out as an old late ‘70’s Sunbird by Revell. These kits were tooled up after the Monroe Handler Mustang II and share many of the same parts. The chassis detail is weak and the size of the parts is anemic. I had these leftover test shot parts stashed away since about 1977/8(?) and there is no clear shot in the pile. I had an extra Monza nose and hood and thought they looked better than the Pontiac parts. They are supposed to be plug & play, but a little bit of sanding and filling were required to get them to line up, SOP for the era. I am using the customized Sunbird rear end. The rims are easily identifiable leftovers from an earlier project. I milled out the hubcap/lug area… And machined some aluminum sleeves to make them fit in some larger tires and add some offset… This is a rear… The fronts and rears have different offsets. Rear parts on the right, front parts on the left.
  18. Maybe the blue toy was inspired by the same comic version car as the later full size movie cars? So my guess is they all were shaped from the same comic source more likely than the movie cars being copied from the blue toy.
  19. Yeah, that quarter has an inflation problem... To be clear, as mentioned in the WIP, the model has about a 13.5 inch wing span, it's 1/32 scale.
  20. Nope, no Photoshop tricks. It is a real photo....
  21. By far the best build up of this car I have ever seen.
  22. Wow. That is great!
  23. Wouldn't it benefit the buyers more if you made something that could be used "as is" instead of a one-of-a-kind fantasy or custom that is not prototypical of any actual real car? If you have the specs to the An-Anabi car, why not use them to make a correct replica? You are going through all this effort, seems like making a real replica would be more saleable. To me that is more in line with "having the buyer in mind". Just a thought...
  24. You have the touch for 1/43rd. That looks much larger than it is due to your clean workmanship. Great job!
