  1. Finished: And here’s one for Harry, as requested…
  2. You know, I think you are absolutely right. The instructions (English as a second or third language) called it lead and I followed along. But I noticed a plastic "skin" on the stuff I used. And it was a tad bit more brittle than I expected lead to be. It is a very maliable aluminum and worth experimenting further with...
  3. One shot makes it look like it was chiseled from stone.
  4. This one is done and in the Under Glass section...
  5. According to the box end cap: #52 Item 60309**6800
  6. Prop… Engine installed… Gear doors opened…
  7. It's 1/43rd by Renaissance. Here's the WIP: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58191&pid=711285&st=0&#entry711285
  8. The flakes in the green are not as glittery in person as the camera picks up. It suffers from some fit issues and poor instructions. But it does build an impressive car…
  9. The buckles come in the kit. The PE in this kit is great, and there is a lot of it. But some of it does not fit well, especially where it needs to fit to resin parts. The dash (and front splitter and rear wing uprights) are decaled with C/F decal that aslo came in the kit. ScaleMotorsports makes some nice C/F decals and has them in 1/43rd.
  10. Don't forget the Revell '69 Camaro and the Monogram/Revell '78 Corvette Pace Cars. They should still be easy enough to find.
  11. Nice save. That is looking sharp! Will I see it in person tonight?
  12. Classic, a favorite of mine. Nice and clean!
  13. The main landing gear is made up of metal struts molded into ABS, rubber tires, some PE, even springs for the working oleo struts.
  14. Decals and paint are done, onto final assembly…
  15. Was that built from the Minicraft Mutt? Nice work.
  16. The interior got a few more parts… I thought it was done…
  17. The interior is done. I tried using the lead foil from a wine bottle as directed by the instructions for the seat belts this time. In some ways it is easier than tape (like I usually use) to work with, other ways a little more work. It looks a bit heavy in 1/43, but it also makes it pop. That might be a good thing once it is all inside the car.
  18. This is a good addition.
  19. How did you make the tires look like, well, tires? Nice work overall ltoo.
  20. Scale/size is irrelevant, just detail whatever size you are working in to what it can take. The wheels/tires/brakes are made up of mostly PE in an aluminum rim with rubber tire and machined nut.
  21. I finished the fuselage in the same manner as the wings, decals and all, before putting the two sub-assemblies together. The landing gear and doors are fully functional.
  22. That is coming along very nicely, and super clean work, (like usual).
  23. Yes, it is 1/43rd scale. OK, so I got the base color on it... I used Zero Paints for the Green, I also used their clear to seal it prior to decal application.
  24. Yes, that is the way the kit is molded, recessed rivets and panel lines.
  25. Not at this time. I am still testing different ingredients and proportions and would hate to have someone screw up their model or decals.
