Tom, To give you a little more info, it's a '78 issue Revell "Convoy Van" Over all it's in remarkable condition, the decals are cherry, although I will for sure be spraying them before use. I think you are right about the cutting and grinding. The body is off the frame, the floor pan it about 99% off the chassis. The interior is holding fast tho. Tail lights are stuck in place, I'm guessing forever ! The rear porthole windows aren't letting go as well as the 2 sunroofs .. I guess it's time to get creative .... -
Ok, so I'm trying yo "un-glue" a glue bomb I picked up on eBay. I started with Purple Power, which usually does the trick. No dice. I then tried the freezer method , which got a few of the plated parts off, but no luck anywhere else. Just for reference , it soaked in Purple Power for approximately 72 hrs and was in the freezer every bit of 24. I would use brake fluid at this point but there are a few "glass" pieces left on the body ( it's a "70's" style van ) and I don't want to craze the clear plastic. I have no experience using Easy-Off, other than I know for a fact it'll eat the blueing off of an M-16A2 service rifle ( ask me how I know, no I wasn't the one that did it ) . So , I'm at an impasse here gents, any and all suggestions are welcome..

I feel your pain, as I am also recovering from an accident. I blew out my Achilles Tendon in my left leg.. It'll be another 3-4 months before I'm mobile. Modeling has kept me from going absolutely insane while being housebound . The build is looking awesome so far, keep us posted on your progress.. Dan

I have a ton of great memories coming back since I've come back to modeling . My older brothers were into building & that's what got me started . Fast forward 30 years & one of my brothers has since passed away, but is never to far from my thoughts. I always think of him & how he'd build . This isn't a sad thing at all , rather it makes me very happy ..

They weren't packed very well, but the box they were shipped looked like somebody used it for a game of kickball ...

I have the "Hot Rod" version of the Minicraft '31 pickup .. the wheels and tires that came with it just aren't in keeping in the direction I'm heading with it ...

There is a show/swap meet here in Smyrna coming up on November 9th.. I have plans to buy 3 of each Foose kit I can find, I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of kit bashing potential in them. If nobody posts pics by then I will surely do so .

That's good info. The aforementioned video on YouTube makes me think "90's fujimi /testors" type of stuff.. not the best, but certainly not the worst ..

Yeah, I saw that vid too,not a whole lot of info in it but thank you for taking the time to look it up. . I guess for $9 plus shipping I can take the chance ..
