That almost goes without saying at my house. My dog is never more than 2 steps away from me ..

I rate Barris right up there with Coddington .. they just relied on other peoples skill to make a name for themselves. Now Jesse James, Chip Foose, Steve Strope ? Those guys are real artists ...

Very Correct, externally the 383/400 are the same..The same way the 273 , 318, 340, 360 ( LA blocks ) are all , externally, the same .
-
The 383 isn't an RB unless you're referring to the 1959-1960 383's. 440 & 426 Hemi's are in the RB ( Raised Block ) family and externally pretty much the same. The Hemi having a few cast in pads for different accessory locations. Hope this helps .

So, what do you guys do while you're building ? I either have winamp booted up with music or I have a movie going while I'm working. Anybody else work like this ? I'm lucky enough to have a completely spare bedroom in the new house, where we have our computers and a lazy-boy. A lot of times the wife who is an avid reader will sit and read while I work on my models. She is so supportive of my hobby , I'm a lucky guy..

NOS Barn Finds - Sale Is Next Month
KingSix replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, 25 years. Several 1 of 1 cars to my credit. 1 of 1 1970 Baldwin Motion Buick 455 Stage 1 GSX, 1 of 1 1971 Buick GSX Artic White GSX with Black vinyl top.. ( one of 2 GSX's with a vinyl top, the other is a 1970 ) The owner of the shop I worked for in Marietta was the owner of the Baldwin Motion car, which recently sold to a gentleman in Florida. -
NOS Barn Finds - Sale Is Next Month
KingSix replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Considering how many Cameos were actually made (1405 in 1958 / how many are left ), add in the fact that it's the ONLY one in existence that has 1.5 miles on it ? Sure it's got some roof damage but it's otherwise immaculate. Never titled, registered, etc etc ? It was a very smart buy. Get a competent shop that can affect the repairs, without making it look like it was repaired ?? That thing would sell for a half million easy .. It was indeed a very smart buy for 140k .. -
Does anybody know of a photo etch detail set for a Baldwin Motion Camaro of other vehicle ? I'm putting together the parts needed to make the Baldwin Motion '70 Buick GSX . Any help would be appreciated.

Jack's model round-up
KingSix replied to mnwildpunk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
His current kits are priced well. His vintage stuff is way pricey, also he's pretty stingy on trade value. -

$250,000 for a Mustang knockoff?
KingSix replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Honestly, it's not that much money considering the amount of fab-work going into it. It's an aluminum/ carbon fiber body. That alone is worth the price of admission. Granted, for that kind of cash I'd rather see a completely "original" design. But at the end of the day, after tooling, labor, the cost of paint, upgrade parts.. I'm willing to bet they aren't making a huge profit on these... -
$250,000 for a Mustang knockoff?
KingSix replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The front end looks more like a 1971-72 Plymouth than a Mustang .. and at 250k I'll bet they aren't making a ton on each copy either ..
