  1. This is a fantastic thread and one that I plan to bookmark and/or I'd be interested in getting ahold of that list if it can get posted to have close-at-hand at the bench. Anyway, a couple things I wanted to mention that always gets my attention on race cars is when the roll cage tubing hangs down into the window area/driver's compartment. Ideally, it should be tucked up inside the roof as much as possible. One a 1:1 it would either be in the way or would reduce visibility. Another irksome thing I see is roll cage tubing that is way out of scale (large) for the build.
  2. Fantastic job, as usual, Tyrone. Looks really sharp and sounds like it found an excellent home... Nice, nice, nice!
  3. I love it! I've always like the 87-88 Turbo Coupe anyway. Yours just confirms that feeling...
  4. The guys have done great with their rides! I'll look forward to seeing their updates.
  5. Your Camaro is looking great Tyrone. What do you use to make your brake line attachment clips?
  6. Hey Bradley. Thanks for your military service in years past and for doing your job to help out our military as a contractor now. As Tony said, hopefully you'll be able to keep in touch with us and let us know how things are going... As far as my Fairmont, I didn’t get it finished for the show but thought I’d share a few mockup pics of what the paint job looks like. It’s got some problems, but turned out decent for the first time I’ve done any “for real†painting in some time, especially considering I used my air brush. I do like the colors and balance among the three of them really well.
  7. Sprue attachment is probably a bigger bugaboo to me than wheels, since I almost always am going to swap wheels and tires anyway.
  8. I'm planning to be there with a vendor table.
  9. Thank you, Jason. The Lord's given me a lot of patience to do this kind of work, though it's even pushed me pretty hard recently...
  10. Thanks Tony. I'm figuring to take a mirror it can set on, if nothing else. Hopefully I'll have some more pics to share soon.
  11. A few update pics. Im trying to get this ready to take to a show this weekend. A long, long way to go. It reminds me of 30 years ago when I took my Pro Street Maverick to a car show and the paint on the rear bumper wasnt completely cured. May be the same with this… lol
  12. That is too cool, John. Superb job from start to (near) finish. Your concept is one-off; the execution of your vision for the project is fantastic, both in construction and finish. As Lawrence Welk used to say, "wunnerful, wunnerful" (or some such thing)...
  13. I would second David' G's suggestion. We also "tie" our garbage bags rabbit-ear style, so I have collected a bunch of nice, straight twist tie wires from several boxes of bags.
  14. Hey, congrats Mat. Marriage is a great thing. Take good care of her and she'll do the same in return. God bless you both for a long and happy time together! BTW, you just missed our anniversary by three days (5/18) - we celebrated our 20th!
  15. This is an absolutely fantastic build, Jeff. Everything about it is better than first-class. It's tons of fun to check in every couple days and see the progress you've made. I might add, too, that your photography lends a lot to the work you're doing on your Provelle.
  16. Thanks Bradley. I'm pretty pleased with how things are going together. It's awful slow going, but progress is being made. The worst thing is I was/am really hoping to have it ready to take to a show in only a few weeks and I don't know if I'll make it or not...
  17. Your interior is coming along fine, Tony. The colors of your paint and carpet match really nicely! I hope BB's repaint goes well...
  18. Thanks Tony. More to come!
  19. A few pics! The rear end is ready to have rod ends and hardware attached. The chassis isn't ready yet, but will hopefully make some steps in that direction very soon. I got my front frame rail master molded and cast. It's not perfect but given the circumstances, it turned out pretty decent. I'm working on the tubes that run from the A-pillar/dash bars to the front of the frame rail where the struts tie in. One strut is finished. The other is about 50% complete. I got the Lenco levers tacked together a couple nights ago. I've got the fuel cell mastered, molded and cast but not painted. No pics of it yet. I added a sump to it so it's more realistic appearing. Anyway, enough rambling for now...
  20. Are you building something that's got 1/25th or 1/24th origins? Since the Glidden cage members you mentioned are 1/24th, if you happen to be building to 1/25th scale, your proposed sizes will be a bit on the large side, depending on how fussy you are when building to scale. Most high end 1:1 roll cage and chassis members are 1-5/8" OD, if I'm not mistaken. In 1/25th, .062 is about about as close to scale as a guy can get. You obviously need to build with materials you're comfortable using, but just wanted to throw my 2-cents into the mix before it's too late.
  21. It's looking great. I also like the color you painted the body and your weather techniques are out of this world. This one will be fun to keep looking in on.
  22. What kinds of parts are you looking for Chris? I've got packages of parts that I've developed specifically for what I hope will eventually be a more or less complete Fairmont pro stocker. The thing I've tried to keep in mind is to make them as universal in their application as possible. I've got several pkgs that include some neat PE pieces. Some packages are resin Lenco 4-speed with PE "old style" flat Lenco levers and linkage rods, retrofit PE 4-link brackets and SS tubing for Revell pro sportsman kit that also fits my Fairmont (or vice-versa), Pro Mod 4-link PE set with link tubes, resin/PE strut front end that is very detailed (about 10 separate pieces per strut), drilled and undrilled rotor kits, narrowed and braced resin 9-inch rear end, "2x3 mandrel bent" rear frame rails with cross members, high detail Holley Dominator carbs with separate boosters, and 351C pro stock engine. If you want more specifics, or pics of stuff, feel free to e-mail me @ scott@futurattraction.com Scott
  23. Hey Ben and Len, I had Jim make these up so I can mold and cast them. They'll be available. Not sure exactly when yet. A bit more of an explanation... I wanted to add a more detail to the front of my 351C pro stock engine so had Jim make a new crank damper stub with separate dry sump drive pulley. I also had him make the water pump drive motor and pulley for the front of the water pump. I'm gonna try to design a PE bracket that will attach the WP motor to the WP. Also need to come up with a piece to mount the dry sump pump. I can't wait to get them and see what they look like in person! Scott
