  1. Thanks for all the replies. I took the Future off with Windex and the checking in the paint became even more apparent. For paint I am using the small Testors enamel paints thinned with lacquer thinner. I think I'll try another spoon test and wait longer before applying a Future clear coat. This is the look I'm going for but the front bumper/lower grill (removed the bumper halves) will be silver for a monotone look. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSKrn8DYrq4JMh4qYROnmhPmlNZH_rXAH61vieiALeuY7Zv6EHT
  2. Thanks for all the replies, ended up using Easy-off then an hour bath in brake fluid, body looks good. I did a spoon test using Testors gloss black (thinned with lacquer thinner) on the weekend and then applied Future as a clear last night, never used Future before so I wanted to try it out; well it ended up checking the paint. The surface is smooth to the touch but it has cracked the paint. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks, Justin
  3. Wow, what scale is that?
  4. Got a 60 Impala on the go, going to do a two tone, Black & Silver. Had a really nice silver laid down and ended up ruining the paint when masking for black. Had the body in brake fluid for 20 min, I would like to remove more paint but don't want to ruin the plastic, can I leave the body in brake fluid for a few hours without harming the body? Thanks.
  5. Got the body primed, Testors primer through an old Paasche VL. Can someone recommend a good seam filler (putty) I bought the Testors putty but it isn't worth the tube it came in, thanks. I'm already thinking I have to buy another one of these, they are too much fun.
  6. Thanks, I have a 426 hemi from the Revell 68 Charger that I think I may try to fit in, cheers.
  7. Hey all, Spent enough time browsing the forums so I thought I would final post a WIP. Lowered and chopped(first chop btw) Cut the doors to bring back the a-pillar to match the roof. Front wheels are off a 60 Impala which is in the works,Impala body just finished its second brake fluid bath!! Going to get it primed tonight. Does anyone know what big block engine comes with the Revell 32 Ford 5 Window kit? I can't place it, it looks like a make shift Hemi. Here's what got me back into modelling. AMT 68 Shelby that I bought in 05, forgot about it and decided to finish it in Dec 10, now I have the modelling bug again. Noticed the decals are falling off lol, they were very brittle. Bought and finished the 68 Cobra Jet in Jan. For both cars on the window trim and rocker panels I use 3M aluminum tape that is used in the HVAC industry for sealing duct work and refrigeration lines. I dont recommend using this as a roll is expensive but it was in my tool box and saved me from going out and buying BMF. Justin
