  1. Outstanding! You need to run a larger cowl hood to fit an air cleaner on.
  2. Toothpicks, currently using the round with pointed ends as they also make great glue applicators
  3. Well you can always stick in a 427, but I think a modular motor would be really cool either supercharged 5.4l from the Shelby or the n/a 4.6 from the 99 SVT Cobra.
  4. 03/04 were the same engine. The engine pic is of my car, here's a stock picture before I modified it. Also here's a shot of the filter that's in it now. PM me if you need more. Cheers
  5. Thanks, I forgot the Lightning was a 2 valve.
  6. Is the Lightning a current model? The Lightning is a 5.4L with a smaller blower but should be a good starting point, thanks.
  7. Does any resin builder make a 03/04 Cobra engine, if not it would be really cool if someone started one.
  8. Laid down a base coat last night. Testors enamel thinned with lacquer thinner, no primer on the body. I primed the hood and trunk as I sanded off the emblems. I will clean up the over spray with a q-tip and brake fluid.
  9. I think your rotten skills were pretty ###### good in 89, I like it.
  10. Nice build, where did you get the engine from? Almost a shame to put a hood over that engine.
  11. Looks good, did you chop the roof or is that the stock height?
  12. I use Easy-off (yellow can) on Revell chrome and it will not remove the clear primer.
  13. Nice build, detail on the carbs is great.
  14. Nice build. What kit is that and what scale? I need one, thanks. Justin
  15. Grill takes away from the rest of the car, looks like it ought to be in the movie Cars. Your build looks mean, I think it would look good with a billet grill, see link. http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_0912_1965_buick_riviera/index.html
  16. Lookin good.
  17. Awesome, I have the issue of HotRod magazine when that car was in it.
  18. I will be sure to pick up some glazing putty (for next time, change of plans) thanks. There were no issues with the interior (used a 0.82mm hack saw blade), even if there had it would have been an easy fix by removing material from either the front or back of the interior floor panel. I wasn't sure what to do with this untill I picked up the April/11 issue of HotRod magazine. This is my first attempt at weathering, let me know what you think. (quick mock up) Removed the gas tank, I think it gives it more of an aggresive look, I will put a filler cap on as if there was a fuel cell in the trunk.
  19. Your input is greatly appreciated, thank you. Oh ya, quite an honour.
  20. Thanks for the comments, I also thought it was odd to have that upright spare tire recess; didn't research as to which was correct for the year, thanks for the info. I hope to get back on this build soon, just been having too much fun with the 32 Ford.
  21. Very nice build, you should probably get a tetanus shot before getting near that thing again
  22. Awesome, nice touch with the front end unsprung.
  23. Very nice.
  24. Appreciate the input. I am airbrushing, you could say im new to it again, however its coming back quickly. I do use primer however I did not primer the spoon (good point) but the Testors enamel gloss black was as smooth as glass before I applied the Future clear coat. I decant any spray bomb paints as the nozzles are terrible and I probably will try lacquer paints in the future. Thanks again.
  25. Thanks for the reply. After researching the first gen hemi's. I'm opting a for sencond gen 426 (no replacement for displacement) Photoshopped in the rear white walls as I plan on painting them on, just want to see how it would look. Going to try my hand at photoetching a header flange for scratch build headers.
