  1. Add me in please with a "69 Camaro Yenko"
  2. He's making the rest of us look bad, I say we ban him! Absolutely an amazing build.
  3. I did my first chop recently but it was on a 32 Ford. I would recommend starting with that as it is relatively easy before tackling the 49.
  4. Iron Fist

    AE86 LEVIN

Nice build, something like "Track Rat" might be a little more appropriate.
  5. Cool, "Herbie goes HotRod!"
  6. Thanks for comments. Took a few outdoor shots, I think they turned out pretty well. Got me thinking, this thing has a better finish than my car.
  7. First under glass post, this is also my first two tone paint job finished with Testors wet look clear lacquer and third foil job. Taking the darn pictures was more frustrating than building the model, I hope to get some outdoor pics tomorrow. Thanks for looking. Justin
  8. Very cool, might have to try that on my next build.
  9. Open your eyes, art work has ten runners, 10th partially hidden behind hose, I don't know why I'm debating to someone about toy.
  10. The plenum doesn't look shortend at all, still has ten intake runners, for a V8
  11. 13/19, didn't have any trouble with the Fords or Chevys.
  12. Almost ready, next post will be under glass. Hard to take a good picture, camera wants to focus on reflections. These two pics were taken just with natural lighting. Poor basment lighting shot. Thanks for looking.
  13. Those look great, nice find.
  14. I also found Future to pool easily, just ran it through my airbrush straight out of the bottle. I lost interest in trying to make Future work as a clear coat as I am having great success with decanting Testors wet look clear lacquer, though I still use Future for small clear coat touch ups using a brush, and it works great for decals.
  15. Very nice build
  16. I am by no means an airbrush expert but I can give you a few tips. A DA airbrush is not better but just allows you to control the width of the paint during your stroke, narrow to wide or wide to narrow. I have a DA Paasche VL and have only ever used it for modelling in single action. I also use a #5 needle which gives the broadest width. A gavity feed will allow for greater detail, meaning really fine lines; and a siphon feed allows for easy color changes because the bottles are attached to the bottom of the airbrush. Just remove one color bottle run a bit of thinner through and swap in a new color. Again my airbrush is a siphnon feed. Regulators are very important, I use a 5 gallon compressor and shoot between 15-20 psi. Its not so much varying the pressure but controlling it and have it stay at a constant rate. My airbrush is 26 yrs old so I can't really comment on trigger types although its a push button type. You will need plenty of ventilation for your apartment to exhaust the paint fumes and mist or you will wind up painting in a cloud of paint, also you will need a descent mask not one of those disposable paper ones.
  17. That looks like your staring at the real thing. What did you use for the header wrap?
  18. I'm going to tell you all what it is right here, it's "for sale"; said so right in the window.
  19. Excellent work!
  20. Nice paint work, is that straight out of the can or did you run in through an airbrush?
  21. Lookin good, I'd go with the first set.
