This build is looking awesome! I have a couple of questions. The texture on the shapeway parts, how rough is it? It looks like it would be tedious to get smooth. Also, which tubing are you using for the headers, they look great. Keep up the good work!

This is my second most anticipated movie of this year. The latest trailer is pretty crazy, I can't wait. -

This is it - The all new Ford GT
Slapfight replied to carsntrucks4you's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What do super-specialized one trick pony cars have to do with a production street car? Salt flat cars have jet engines in them, I hear they are fast. It's also funny you defend the v8, but want a car with a v10. When it comes to the new GT, people don't understand what Ford is doing with it. They intend to win class at Le Mans 50 years after the GT40 went 1-2-3. Literally every styling and powertrain element of the car is based around that, it's irrelevant what car nerds say on the internet. -
Erm...there are lots of non-v8 engines that can go 400k + miles, I'm not sure what you are on about.

Wankel 4 rotor, Audi I5, and a nice n/a v12 to name a few, but to each their own. -
I'm in on this, although I have no idea what I will do. I'll think on it, and see what I can come up with.

That GT-One makes me so jealous. Nice haul. I've only recently bought another '70 Mach 1 2'n 1 on sale and the BM '70 Camaro, but I'm saving up for the Houston Modelmania show on the 26th. Anyone else going?

Aluminum frame and carbon fiber body. Only the interior is still plastic. ;P -
It's so beautiful. I envy you so much.

FnF Supra FULL DETAIL build ALL DONE! In Under Glass

Rice burner is a pejorative describing Japanese-made—or by extension, Asian-made—motorcycles and automobiles.[1] The term is often defined as offensive or racist stereotyping.[2][3][4] In some cases users of the term assert that it is not offensive or racist,[5][6] or else treat the term as a humorous, mild put-down rather than a racial slur. Nice contribution. -

This is exactly the reasoning why so many things are (cheaply and terribly) made in China now. Bottom line, though, right? -
The Most Embarrassing Cars To Drive
Slapfight replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What about all the cars not made in the last 40 years without guardrail bumpers or cafe regulations? There are plenty of cars made around the world that never had to conform to these. I know, opinion and all, but you are seriously going to say that a Challenger or a Mustang are better looking cars than a 458? An Alfa 8C? Maserati Gran Turismo? GT40? C'mon. -

Someone really likes A bodies. Nice stash find. -
There are more important reasons to buy/not buy from a company than NASCAR, e.g. I will never purchase Castrol again because of BP. I know it doesn't matter in the big scheme of things, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Also, I regret there are no NAPA stores convenient to me, because they are pretty good.

You sure are angry about something so mundane. Kind of the opposite of mundane.

1/8 1979 TRANS AM.......( UPDATE 2/20/2012)
Slapfight replied to COOLBERG's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Well, hello there giant Trans Am buddy. I got my hands on one from a friend, luckily, it was complete, and (almost) crack free. I will be watching with great interest. One question: Are you going to try to replicate or find some original decals? This is the only part I an not sure of yet on mine. I want a nearly stock appearance, and I gotta have that bird. Keep up the good work! -
Ok Dr.Cranky,If anyone know this it's you.

Citadel paints that are made for Warhammer wargaming models have a range of pre-mixed washes that come in a few colors. I use them, and get great results. They are also acrylic, so any mess ups can be fixed with a Q Tip.
