  1. I love seeing these old stock cars built, it's something different for a change. Nice work!
  2. Very nice, now a Colt one would be nice! Who did your decals?
  3. there is a company called American Diorama that has tons of figures in 1/24-1/25 scale. They are prepainted and they aren't too expensive.
  4. I hope you guys all know I had to go back and repaint the engine black! And I know what happens when you assume something! Thanks for the interior pics.
  5. What would be the correct colors to use on the chassis and the engine in a '64 Ford Thunderbolt?
  6. After reading the review in the latest issue of Model Cars magazine I was wondering if anyone else was as confused as I am? When the reviewer talks about the decals he states the sheet includes "all the striping and titles to replicate the actual Cosmic Charger, both in it's original guise and with the altered bodywork and front-mounted blower," As far as I can tell the model as depicted on the box cover has a completely different paint scheme and the striping colors and pattern are different also. These decals are NOT included with the kit in this new release. I have tried to contact Round2 Models but they have not responded to my e-mail inquiry. I like the kit and having seen the real car at a museum in Auburn, Indiana I wanted to build both styles. Does anyone know if the decals are available to do the car as depicted on the box top?
  7. I saw someone makes velocity stacks with blue or red bands on them but I didn't get the info on where to purchase them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Does anyone have a source for the decals to do the Cosmic Charger as it appears on the box top of the recently re-issued kit? I know they added the parts to do the kit with the front mounted blower and the decals that come in the kit are for that one. The car can also be built with a more traditional top mounted blower but the paint job and decals are quite different.
  9. Thanks these are asll great responses. I'll have to decide which way to go from here. Thanks for your help.
  10. I'm working on a Funny Car chassis that I am going to put under a resin body and I have some questions about the engine. This kit has a twin magneto set up and I am replacing the kit part with aftermarket magnetos and they come with a coil and wire to run from the coil to the mags. My questions are 1. Where would be a good place to mount the coil? 2. Would a double mag set up use 2 coils (I guess)? 3. Would there be a wire running to the coils and if so from where? This is what happens when you decide to give a try at wiring things!
  11. I have some resin parts I am going to use on a build and I was wondering how to repair small air bubbles? They aren't very big so I was wondering if there is an easy way to fill and sand, or what is the recommended way to repair this small flaw? Thanks
  12. Who makes a good match for the light blue on the Malco Gasser Mustang? I shot a little Grabber Blue but it's too dark. I want to do the base color and then the darker blue also around the wheel wells and other areas.
  13. I need to cast a second set of cylinder heads in 1/25 scale, is this easy? Will one of the small resin casting sets from Hobby Lobby do the trick?
  14. How do I strip old glue off parts? I got hold of a John Milner dragster and I want to unglue the frame rails and the motor parts. Can I soak it in easy-off or something else to do this? I'm not really worried about the chrome parts on the engine because I can redo them with Alclad paints but the frame rails are done rather poorly and so is the rest of the engine, blower mounted backwards etc. etc....................
  15. People who constantly criticize every new kit that is released tends to irk me today and every day really. Not everyone in the hobby is a rivet counter or a contest winning builder and the constant whining is really over the top! If you don't like a companys product don't buy it. I would wager that some of you buy the newest kit just so you have something to complain about. One of the major complaints that I hear working at my LHS is how much kits have gone up in price "since I was a kid" and I don't think people realize what goes into producing a kit. In my opinion most of the kits out there today build into a perfectly acceptable model to sit on ones shelf, if you want a contest winner than you'll have to put in the time and effort. The whining just seems to have reached a point where it is becoming a hobby unto itself. I hope everyone takes this in the best possible way because far be it from me to cause any more strife in your already harried life. Enjoy!
  16. After soaking all night in Bleche Wite, now made by Black Magic and called new and improved, I still have flecks of chrome on the parts I am trying to strip! I changed the solution once and even brushed the parts with a toothbrush. Any ideas for a different product that will safely do the job?
  17. I work at my LHS and can speak to this question with some observations from the other side of the counter. I have dealt with numerous customers who have asked about a specific product and during the course of our discussion they make a statement about the price being lower on line, and while this may be true without the shipping cost, I never fail to point out that while that may be true you can't speak to a web site about the various pros and cons of that item. You can't easily get tips or suggestions from a website either. Don't get me wrong, I have purchased things model related off the web but they are things out of production and I usually have to pay a higher price than when they were newly released. The web has it's place but it will be a sad day when and if it ever completely replaces the LHS!
  18. I told you that green would look good Tony! So far so good now i want to see that body.
  19. Funny they don't carry the full line of Pegasus tires! Just sayin'
  20. I don't think Pegasus Hobbies is the same company that makes the tire/rim combos.
  21. Who is a good source for the Pegasus line of slicks /rims and front tires and rims for dragsters and funny cars? I tried ehobbies but the search engine seems kinda screwed up.
  22. Anybody have any solid info on if/when the Malco Gasser Mustang will be released? I've heard rumor of this for quite a while now but nothing solid!
  23. Anyone have a source for a set of Cosmic Charger decals?
  24. How do I get ahold of Billy Gooche? Does he have a web-site?
