  1. BAM! Nailed it!
  2. I mentioned yesterday that we rescued a cat from the SPCA. In case anyone was wondering, here's Pierre, posing with Mrs. Corvair Jim (my beautiful Rose, someone that I'm thankful for EVERY day!) last night - I hadn't been able to upload the pic to Photobucket when I made the post: (Sorry about the lousy cell phone pic - She wanted to text the photo to our daughter right away!)
  3. Chris, it could be that I just missed the "Tin Men" answer, but if someone DID say that, they were spot-on! (Notice that I DIDN'T post any of the three Corvairs in the movie, including 2 that were kinda prominent... Just sayin'! )
  4. How about this one?
  5. "Tucker: The Man And His Dream"
  6. "Wayne's World"... I had to get this one - I used to own a Pacer! EDIT: Oh, I didn't notice that Joe had already nailed this one. As Charlie Brown would'a said, "Rats".
  7. I know what it is. It might look like something cobbled together by a guy on meth who wanted a Countach, but it's a real car.
  8. "Edge Of Seventeen", by Stevie Nicks
  9. "I got to have a shot of what you got is oh so sweet, You got to make it hot, like a boomerang I need a repeat... "
  10. "A million young poets screamin' out their words, To a world full of people just livin' to be heard"
  11. "That Girl", by Stevie Wonder.
  12. "Don't Know What You Want ('til It's Gone)", by Cinderella
  13. "Don't Talk To Strangers", by Rick Springfield.
  14. "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You", by The King.
  15. Funny, that guy seemed more of a tenor than a Soprano to me... and not a very good one at that! What pleased me? We got a rescue cat from the SPCA. He's a real sweetheart, very playful and loving. It's hard for me to understand how someone could turn in such a wonderful animal.
  16. ... And the second one is "Crazy Mama". A pair of '57 Eldorado Bairritz's in one - Nice job. Since we seem to be on a Cadillac kick here, how 'bout another screen shot from the same film as the Coupe DeVille I posted a couple of days ago with no guesses so far. If you look closely, the fourth car down the line is a '57 Bairritz... : (I think this is where I cue up Jimmy Buffett's "Fins"!)
  17. The 1967 Camaro SS/Rs is from "Better Off Dead", and a little research showed the silver Vega was used in "The Rockford Files", although not as a principal vehicle like Rocky's GMC pickup above. How about the film that featured this one?:
  18. Billy Joel, "A Matter Of Trust"
  19. Beautiful job! I once owned a yellow '73 Chevelle Laguna wagon - The only year Checy made that model. Laguna was the high-end luxury version of the Chevelle in '73, replaced by the Malibu Classic for 1974. The Laguna Type S-3 replaced the Chevelle SS from 1974 through 1977. Anyhow, enough of the history lesson. Your model gives me the inspiration to FINALLY attempt to make a model of my car - One of my favorites of the non-Corvairs I've owned over the years. Hewre's a photo of a similar car I found online a while back - My car had Rally wheels, not mags:
  20. Also, Hot Wheels made one a few years back.
  21. One of my favorites from ol' Carlos!
  22. It couldn't hurt to try. What's the worst that could happen? It's good to hear that you've found so many really good folks working for the U.S.P.S. in your area. In over 28 years as a Postal Worker (as opposed to a "postal employee", if you see the difference), I've found that there are many standouts like that, folks who actually care about the customer. I like to think that I'm in that group, even though I work in a sorting facility and have no face-to-face interaction with customers. My local P.O. has no off-street parking, yet I'd rather go there than the one at the plant where I used to work. Lines move well, the clerks are polite, and things I sent from there are always handled gently, at least where I could see them. I still cringe when I think about the videos I've seen on YouTube shot by security cameras of UPS deliverymen just tossing packages over fences or onto porches, or left out in the rain in puddles, etc. There are always Postal delivery supervisors out on the streets keeping an eye on carriers at random, and if a carrier is seen doing something like that, they may well find themselves out of a job... until the union steps in and gets them their jobs back - with back pay. Management usually wimps out when pressed over these things.
  23. What kind of boob would name a car "Tata"? If Quaker Oats bought one, might it be a "Zest for Life"? If it turned out not to be any good, would it be "Lemon Zest"?
  24. I knew you'd get that one!
  25. "Handy Man", by Jimmy Jones, later covered by James Taylor and others. "Well, I'll tell you one thing, If you would leave it'd be a crying shame, In every breath and every word, I hear your name calling me out... "
