Hello Carl, thank you. Just kind of winging it on this one.

Thank you guys, thank you Oldcafgan27, yes I don’t think I would like the ride either. A friend of mine has seats like this and we’re actually not bad. But we did not go far, just a cruise in the city. I was actually thinking of maybe a pearl orange but I keep having thoughts of black. I still do not know.

Revell 5 window. Chopped the top, opened the doors and cowl vent. The rear deck was already cut out. Art Latski wheels, parts bin tires. Aircraft bomber seats. Lengthened the frame. Was going for a Boss 429 motor but that idea changed. Transmission 4 speed. This is a very long project. I started this years ago. Everytime I start it , some other project has to be finished, so here we go again. Leaning toward a flathead engine. Do not know a color yet. I know it’s not going to be red. I was thinking a mango color but who knows, that will probably change. Here we are so far……..

Man that’s beautiful -
By the way I would like to thank Chris Smith for the how to, on the seats. And of course my friend Mark Adams for the model, and getting me into 40’s cars.

A model factory hiro kit. 1/24. Was not really interested in 40’s cars. 30’s and 50’s on up but not a big fan of 40’s cars until the merc I did as a custom. Stared out luke warm at best. As I was building the car I started to get into it. Then really started to like this build. This car is not 100 percent accurate. It was a race car but I turned it into a touring car and build it the way I would like to drive one. Just a water based red toner with a urethane clear. The seats were airbrushed with focus natural Terracotta paints. And everything else is tamiya paints. The 40’s are a very fun build. I was a little out of my comfort zone, like the 49 merc I did, not really into that either but these I’m really happy with. Both builds kind of fell into place. Hope you like.

Finished. A race car made into a touring car. Not 100 percent accurate on any of the Ferrari 166. A combination of what I saw on the internet and how I would want one. After talking to the LEE Collection people here in town, ( they have one)they said no two were alike. So I made it my way.
