Keef I’m going to have to try the color you suggested. It’s stunning in every way. Unfortunately, interiors are my weak point on a model. But I will try hard to copy the pics you sent. Man , that’s beautiful. Thank you for the pics.

Looks like the color is very close also.

Ohhhhhhh that’s nice. Looks something like Ferrari or Lamborghini would have. I can smell the leather from here! LOL
-
Thank you Keef, what do you suggest on the interior color?

Thank you. The color is black cherry from diamont. It is a solvent automotive base coat with a urethane clear.

I’m going to show you in one picture the stages of finish. First I sand the flat spots with 2000 grit . You can see the orange peel. I sand the orange peel to flat. You have to stay away from the edges and be very careful not to sand thur the clearcoat. I use a meguires product called water spot removal for my first rub. It’s very abrasive so extreme caution is nessary not to rub thru the clearcoat. I use a product called base coat cleaner for my final rub . It’s from auto magic. Then I will polish with a automagic product. After that I use a strawberry wax from auto magic. This is how I get a very smooth finish. Not many people go through all this fuss, but I love a great finish and will go to the extra work for the smooth results. The roof of the GTO is in stages. The first 4, the polish and wax is next. As you can see the paint looked good but can be improved. Do not use these products on model paint! These steps are for automotive urethane finishes only.

Also fixed the warped rear bumper. Did not put the line back in. Actually I was lazy but it looks cleaner.

Painted her. Need to color sand and polish. Just painted. Used chrome revell paint for the bumpers. Not a bad product. Keep you updated on that.

Beautiful, very nice -
Ok a 1970 barracuda. Hemi with a 6 speed from a viper used the viper suspension also. No rear seat because the suspension interfered.

Hello Claude. Very nice. The studio is doing very well. Great job. -
Hello Noel, thank you for the great comments on the 1/8 cars. None of my builds were there in Britain. My friend Mark ( the agora rep for the USA ) met up with Liam co founder of Agora last month. I built the super snake Shelby GT 500 for Agora and it’s now on display at Shelby American in Las Vegas. The guys at Shelby American presented me with the Special Award at the 2021 IPMS nationals for the black cobra 427 pictured. That award opened a big opportunity for free 1/8 models . I build them and post them on the agora site. And help with problems for customers. I would not normally buy these expensive kits , I was lucky because Mark is the agora rep and a big contributor to our IPMS model club. He gave me a Toyota 2000 a few years ago and that really took off. I built that one for DeAgostini. Luck, at the right place at the right time, knowing the USA rep helps. But it’s mostly luck. I had to start slowing them down. Could not keep up. I have a new work relationship with the 296 Ferrari challenge cars so my time is mostly taken on those. I have 6 1/8 kits in my shed unbuilt. I’m in the middle of a 1/8 agora gull wing Mercedes build. I just gave away the yellow Muira to a friend. I turned my friend Steve ( a fantastic model builder and a IPMS nationals winner) to continue the 1/8 builds. He loves it. . So Noel it was mostly luck and I’m very fortunate to be a part of these builds. Thank you for your comments. P.S. the red cobra and the GT 40 are the easiest builds. If you need more info on the big cars , let me know if you buy one and I can tell you if it’s a tough build or what to look out for. Oh I’m also building a Ferrari 250 GTO and that is a tough build. So far the Gullwing is pretty good. The Muira was a very tough build. But I believe everyone should try to build one in their lifetime. A lot of room for modifications, extra detailing , change the paint color etc. Also it’s the first thing people look at because it’s so big .

Well the tread of the tires are wrong. I’m going to have the tread going the wrong direction. On one side. The tires are off. The inside of the tire is very different than the raised letter side. So I cannot switch them around. Bummer. Oh well another imperfect model.

I have a friend who worked at Boeing. He said ever since Lockheed Martin was part of Boeing things went down hill. Boeing had three inspections per assembly, then it went down to 2. Then one. That’s when he quit. I’ll never forget his quote ( it will be amazing if the doors do not blow off this thing) that was awhile ago and here it happened. Bean counters are not always a good thing. -

The old guys that gave a sh.t made things to last because their name was on it. Now it’s just greed. I’m trying to teach this guy about (your name is on the repair) but some people do not care. I’m disgusted with the current situation.
